For Carol Lin, travel isn’t just about the destination, but also the excitement and anticipation leading up to a trip.
Carol Lin got her start by working at the prestigious Four Seasons Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills. This experience and training is the foundation on which she then built her travel business. Carol Lin (or CL, as her friends and clients call her) is a luxury advisor who, like a luxury hotel, strives to anticipate her client’s needs and meet or exceed their expectations. In order to do this CL enjoys getting to know her clients, their past travel experiences, personal preferences, and goals for each trip. CL believes that a successful collaboration with her clients is the best way to build the vacation of their dreams.
The travel experiences I remember most happen in countries I’d least expect. For example, India was a country I knew little about and when an opportunity arose for me to visit its Golden Triangle I saw it simply as an educational experience. Never could I have imagined how in love I would then fall with India, it’s people, their spirit, and (of course) the food. It opened me up to taking more chances on destinations I know very little about.
My perfect vacation day would start with breakfast in bed followed by a walking tour of the city with a local guide to show me the major highlights and hidden history surrounding us. I would enjoy a leisurely lunch at a restaurant with views of the city or landscape. The remainder of my afternoon would be spent popping into local boutiques, art galleries, and food shops. In the evening I would dine at a restaurant favored by locals and recommended by my guide. I’d wrap up my perfect vacation day at a venue with live music or a traditional dance performance.
Keep up with the places that deserve more than a bookmark, but a check-in.
