From a New York institution to a beloved afternoon tea, dining is woven into Claridge’s history.
Following a celebrated residency, Dante Mayfair has found a permanent London home at Claridge’s. A fixture of Greenwich Village since 1915, Dante brings its Manhattan character to Mayfair under restaurateurs Linden Pride and Nathalie Hudson, creating a welcoming gathering place that connects two longstanding hospitality names. The Foyer and Reading Room has long been at the center of dining at Claridge’s, from leisurely breakfasts to its time-honored afternoon tea. Beneath a striking Chihuly sculpture, original Art Deco mirrors reflect the grand piano, bringing together elements of the hotel’s history and design. Claridge’s ArtSpace Café offers a more casual option, open daily with a focus on breakfast and lunch. Crêpes are a signature, joined by bagels, made-to-order galettes, seasonal salads, croque monsieurs and madames, mega madeleines, and plenty of Claridge’s cakes.
Claridge’s Bar is an intimate setting for Champagne and cocktails, with an Art Deco-inspired interior designed by David Collins Studio. Its drinks collection ranges from rare Champagnes and spirits to classic and contemporary cocktails, with bartenders on hand to guide guests through the menu. Hidden within Claridge’s Art Deco surroundings, The Fumoir has welcomed guests since 1929. The intimate bar works equally well for a pre-theater drink or something later in the evening. By day, guests can stop in for a cappuccino and Claridge’s fried chicken; by night, the signature Fumoir Negroni and ice-cold vodka martini take center stage.
