What does your perfect vacation day look like?

A perfect vacation day was my trip to Tuscany. We woke early and headed out for a peaceful hike with my husband through the rolling countryside, taking in the quiet beauty of the landscape. Returning for an indulgent breakfast, which is always such a treat while away. Later, we visited a winery that still practices traditional winemaking, enjoying a private tour and hearing firsthand about their generations-old traditions and culture.

The afternoon was spent meandering through the charming streets of Siena, lingering over lunch at a spot where the locals gather. We enjoyed simple, delicious food and wine for just a few euros a glass. We ended the day unwinding at the spa before savoring a relaxed, unforgettable Italian dinner—the kind of day that feels effortless, meaningful, and perfectly balanced.

Which destinations are you looking forward to visiting? Why?

I am very much looking forward to visiting Kona Village, A Rosewood Resort, especially knowing Daniel Scott is now leading the property. He previously managed the excellent Rosewood Mayakoba for many years, and it was always such a treat to visit. I’m certain Kona Village will reflect the same thoughtful leadership, elevated luxury, and attention to detail that made his previous property so special.

Travel Tip

  • When visiting a new city, arrange for a private guide on your first day. It’s the perfect way to gain context, discover hidden corners, and identify the places you’ll want to revisit at your own pace later in the trip. And always—well before departure—check your passport expiration date. Many destinations require at least six months of validity beyond your travel dates, and it’s one detail you never want to overlook.
