The Newt in Somerset

Housed in the estate's converted Threshing Barn, the spa draws its identity directly from the landscape around it, with products made using botanical ingredients sourced from the Medieval Herb Garden just outside. Move between the Hydrotherapy Pool, marble Steam Room, Garden View Sauna, and Halotherapy Room, or descend to the Turkish-style hammam. Seven treatment rooms offer everything from massage to facials, and the Rasul chamber is available for couples' mud therapy.

The Newt runs three restaurants, each with its own character. The Botanical Rooms in Hadspen House is the fine dining option, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner in a more formal setting. At The Farmyard, the Farmyard Kitchen takes a relaxed approach, with wood-fired cooking and sharing dishes from morning through evening. The Garden Cafe sits at the center of the estate gardens, serving primarily estate-grown produce with views to match, running small plates from breakfast through afternoon.

Bar in Hadspen House enjoys live music in the evenings and serves signature cocktails. For a more relaxed pace, The Garner Bar at The Farmyard is a self-service bar, with white and rosé wine from the estate's sister property, and cyder from the estate's ground, complete with a foosball table. The signature cocktail on the estate is The Parabola, with Newt gin, dabinett cyder, elderflower syrup and fresh sprigs of rosemary from the garden.
