Experience the glorious Northern coast of Sardinia, which offers a spectacular blend of untouched nature, authentic villages, and exclusive coastal destinations.
The second-largest Italian island, the isle of Sardinia is renowned for its dramatic coastline, turquoise seas, and a deep cultural heritage shaped by ancient traditions and Mediterranean influences. Long one of the most desirable locations in the Mediterranean, Sardinia has felt particularly at the forefront lately thanks to a new direct flight from JFK and an influx in hotel openings. Along the island’s northeastern shores lies some of its most prestigious real estate: Costa Smeralda. This world-famous thirty-five-mile stretch of coastline has long been known for its opulent lifestyle, glamorous Porto Cervo, dreamy swimming coves, and some of the most beautiful beaches in Europe.
The destination was intentionally crafted to pay deference to its natural environment.
Designed for the jet-set and developed in the 1960s—first by Prince Karim Aga Khan IV, who declared that no building should rise above the island’s indigenous flora—the destination was intentionally crafted to pay deference to its natural environment (long before sustainability was en vogue). Now, nearly eighty years later, the same approach to the art of leisure has only become more refined.
Where to stay
Open since 2022, 7Pines Resort Sardinia has had plenty of time to perfect its approach to hospitality along Costa Smeralda. Situated in a secluded bay along the Emerald Coast called Baja Sardinia, 7Pines extend across fifteen hectares of lush Mediterranean vegetation, offering direct access to the sea for guests. In alignment with its sister hotel in Ibiza, its contemporary design blends seamlessly with the natural landscape.
Overlooking the bay, the resort enjoys spectacular views of the La Maddalena Archipelago, a protected marine paradise of emerald waters and granite islands. This idyllic setting provides the perfect backdrop for lingering days that begin with morning coffee overlooking the sea, bookended by unforgettable sunsets. 7Pines Resort Sardinia’s seventy-five rooms and suites welcome guests into spaces where contemporary design merges with elements of Sardinian tradition, creating an elegant, sophisticated, and deeply relaxing atmosphere. The resort features a main beach and three hidden coves accessible via scenic pathways surrounded by nature, as well as two swimming pools.

A Perfect day in Sardinia
Costa Smeralda was designed to be the ultimate respite from the pace and expectations of daily life. Here, you can indulge in days spent lounging and luxuriating, in whatever order you choose. There’s no wrong way to spend a day in this Mediterranean haven. We’ve crafted our version of the perfect day in Sardinia as your guide to just one of the many ways to do it right.
Start the day with relaxation: After a slow breakfast delivered to your room and enjoyed on your sea view terrace, head down to one of the 7Pines’ stunning private beach coves for a private Pilates lesson. This is the perfect way to warm up your body before the day really starts.
Lunch and sun: After you’ve warmed up your body, head down to the Cone Club, the on-property private beach club. Here, you’ll be served light bites and refreshing cocktails at your private cabana. If you’re feeling adventurous, your SmartFlyer advisor can arrange booking watersports available at the club.
Unwind at the spa: After you’ve gotten your fill of sand and sun, make your way to Pure Seven Spa to follow up your day sunbathing with a treatment to unwind. We recommend the Lìanti ritual; a custom 120- Sminute Sardinian treatment incorporates a complete massage and a wrap that moisturizes and soothes the skin after a sunny day.
Dine ocean front with sunset views: Once you’re feeling restored post-spa, take in the iconic northern Sardinian landscape from an open-air table at Capogiro, 7Pines’ Michelin-starred restaurant. The fresh à la carte menu from Chef Pasquale D’Ambrosio transforms high-quality local ingredients into gorgeous dishes.
End the night with a rooftop cocktail: After your meal, have a nightcap on Capogiro’s rooftop, Bollinger Terrace. Open until 11 pm, this is the perfect place to have a glass of local Sardinian wine and take in the starry sky anchored by a cool island breeze.

Where to Shop in Sardinia
The food. The yachts. Those stunning, preserved swaths of the Sardinian coastline. Each tantalizing element on its own would be worthy of traveling to Costa Smeralda. But, as the cherry on top, Sardinia, and particularly Porto Cervo, is also home to world-class shopping complete with designer boutiques, unique Italian finds, and expertly curated vintage collections. In between bites of fresh seafood and dips in the cerulean waters, take some time to window shop. (Or more likely, shop shop.)
Mareas By Antonio Marras: Without ever leaving the 7Pines property, you can experience a refined boutique, focused on curated fashion and lifestyle pieces with a strong connection to Mediterranean elegance from Antonio Marras. Mareas offers a selection of sophisticated resort wear and accessories, ideal for fully embracing local style.

The shopping hub is a roughly fifteen-minute drive from 7Pines. Walking through the Piazzetta and surrounding streets feels curated. Store fronts for Gucci, Dior, and Dolce & Gabbana line the streets and are met with a marina filled with yachts and A-listers. It is the most iconic destination for upscale shopping in Sardinia. Stop by Sea & Snow for a selection of Italian brands or Gioielleria Vintage for vintage finds from Hermès and Fendi.
Promenade du Port: A modern lifestyle complex combining luxury boutiques, art galleries, restaurants, and marina views. Its sophisticated design and vibrant atmosphere make it a key shopping and social hotspot. Perfect for a refined and contemporary experience in Porto Cervo—and just steps away from the rest of the Porto Cervo shopping streets. Stop by Bhagavan for linen and silk pieces from Italian designers, Larusmiani for bespoke menswear items, and Alevì for Milan-based shoes.

This specialty store offers an array of regional specialties, including wines and cured meats. It was started by three brothers wanting to showcase the best of what Sardinia has to offer, and it does just that with its laid-back approach to taste testing.
San Pantaleo Market: A charming market set up every Thursday in an artistic village known for its bohemian atmosphere. It features handmade crafts, local products, and independent designers, and is less than a twenty-minute drive from 7Pines.
