Property Overview

Villa Royale emerged in Palm Springs during a period of Post-World War II development in the Coachella Valley. The original hotel was built in 1947 and has seen a colorful array of guests over its storied history. This upscale, Spanish-inspired resort is 3 miles from Palm Springs Airport and 12 miles from Interstate 10.

Each is individually designed.

Tucked beneath terra cotta clay roofs and studded with flowering desert flora, Villa Royale houses 38 colorful, airy villas. Each is individually designed; however, all display the eccentric history of Palm Springs. Rooms begin at the deluxe category and extend up to signature villas. We love that the Evelyn Pell Villa, named in honor of the hotel’s original owner, is surrounded by a private desert garden, hot tub and lounge area.

The only way to experience Palm Springs is poolside with a cocktail in hand. Villa Royale offers guests 3 pools on their grounds, all with views of the San Jacinto Mountains. While there isn't a dedicated gym on property, feel free to borrow one of our Electra bicycles as you head out to explore our bike-friendly city.

Housed inside stucco walls accented with original decor, Villa Royale’s intimate bar and eatery, Del Rey, offers up a twelve-seat oak and marble bar. Inspired by Spanish and Mediterranean flavors, Del Rey’s playful menu is served in a small plate format akin to taperías that flourish near the Mediterranean Sea. Del Rey’s tapas-style fare and Mediterranean-leaning wine program will have you trying Spanish varietals, local wines and classic poolside cocktails. The restaurant mirrors Villa Royale’s communal spirit, inviting guests to connect over the age-old custom of gathering around a table, celebrating good flavors in the company of good people.

Once checked in, guests feel an immediate sense of escape with Villa Royale's uninhibited vibe. This Spanish-inspired resort is cozy with individually decorated rooms and villas set around the property. Be sure to keep an eye out for the antiques! With history dating back to 1947, Villa Royale’s colorful heritage is apparent today throughout the bright, bold design of this hideaway.
