Asia is at the top of my list right now. Based in Singapore, I feel I’ve only just begun to explore the region. Japan continues to call; I’m drawn to going beyond the well-known cities into its quieter corners, while Vietnam, particularly the coastal journey on The Vietage train, offers the kind of slow, considered travel I love. Indonesia also remains a constant draw, with Nihi on Sumba at the top of my list! As is Amankora Aman in Paro or Thimpu, Bhutan. Europe will always be part of the conversation, especially its wine regions and coastlines, destinations that reveal something new with each visit, shaped by the season, the table, or the road less taken. I’m off to Italy next year for the America’s Cup in Naples and then maybe a Mediterranean cruise. I see the Four Seasons has just launched a luxury yacht. And Australia, always. Returning home from abroad brings a fresh perspective every time. I would like to explore more of Tasmania. It’s truly a magical place.
I’m naturally an early riser, so my perfect day begins with movement, whether that’s a walk through a new neighbourhood, a gym session, or a swim if I’m by the ocean. It’s my way of grounding myself in a destination before the day unfolds. From there, a relaxed breakfast outdoors is ideal—somewhere that lets you absorb your surroundings and ease gently into the day. I like to strike a balance between having something planned and leaving space to explore: discovering nearby villages, visiting cultural sites, spending time at local wineries, or heading out on a coastal drive. If time allows, a long lunch built around fresh local produce and regional wines is always a highlight. Afternoons are for slowing down, a swim, a moment to reset at the hotel, or simply time to pause before the energy shifts into the evening. Aperitifs somewhere with a sunset atmosphere are a must, followed by dinner that feels like an experience in itself: great food, wine, and a room with a certain buzz to it.
Keep up with the places that deserve more than a bookmark, but a check-in.
