Amanda is a planner by nature who adores the details and lives by the motto, “Don’t just meet expectations. Exceed them.”
With international family trips to destinations like Moscow, Milan, Paris, and London as a child, Amanda’s love for travel started young. Her upbringing – split between New York City and the Hamptons – was the perfect jumping-off point for what would become a life enhanced by frequent travel. These adventures coupled with her Manhattan lifestyle ignited an appreciation for art, fine dining, wine, and cultures different from her own. Prior to diving into the travel industry, Amanda’s 20+ year career in retail, fashion, and events thrived because she consistently surpassed the needs of her clientele, anticipating the small things that would make a big difference in their experience.
Amanda was inspired to pivot into becoming a luxury travel advisor after realizing that her sophisticated tastes and knack for detail would align with SmartFlyer’s mission to create exceptional client experiences. Since relocating to Austin, she has continued to bring her wealth of personal travel knowledge to each and every itinerary she works on. Amanda specializes in family travel, as well as high-touch itineraries in destinations across Southeast Asia, Europe, and beyond. But, she’s equally equipped to help make that domestic road trip, beach vacation to Mexico, or perhaps the Caribbean (did someone say St Barth’s?) extra memorable thanks to her relationships with hoteliers in every corner of the globe who treats her clients like gold.
When the kids are in tow, my husband and I enjoy exploring touring big cities. I’m enamored by the challenge of constantly staying ahead of the latest trends in the realm of dining, fashion, and unique sightseeing; our personal trips help make this possible. As a family, we also love the national parks as a way to embrace the beauty of America’s wide-open spaces! But when given the opportunity to jet off alone with my husband, we adore Italy. I have such fond memories sipping wine on Hotel Splendido’s patio overlooking the sea.
During festive 2021, my family went to South Africa and Botswana on an absolutely epic safari. It was a truly magical experience between the incredible lodges, game viewing, and immersion into nature. We will treasure these memories forever – from the breakfasts in the bush, first lion sighting (within arm’s reach!), seeing a gorgeous leopard at sunrise, and learning how the animals behave in their natural environment through our knowledgable guides. Being on a screen-free vacation with two teenagers is every parent’s dream!
