Ashley discovered her passion for curating travel experiences while living abroad and studying the intricacies of the hospitality industry.

During her two-year residence in England, where she pursued a Master’s Degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management, Ashley developed a pulse on the travel industry. Prior to her time in the U.K., she had the opportunity to immerse herself in Spanish culture during an extended stay in Madrid in undergrad. After completing her studies, she departed from her time across the pond with a profound understanding of European destinations. Since then, Ashley has traveled widely, not only revisiting Europe but also venturing to Africa, the Caribbean, Mexico, and Southeast Asia, where she spent a few weeks exploring Thailand.

Ashley specializes in leisure travel planning at KAX Lifestyle, an affiliate of SmartFlyer, with the likes of romantic getaways, family trips, and vacations with friends. Recognizing the unique desires and dynamics of each traveler, she tailors itineraries that cater to their specific needs and interests. With experience in several facets of the travel industry, her extensive knowledge enables her to recommend hidden gems, exclusive accommodations, and cultural experiences that leave a lasting impression. Since becoming a mother in 2021, Ashley has traveled widely with her daughter, providing her with valuable insights into the needs of clients with young families.

What has been your most memorable travel experience to date?

South Africa, where I spent my honeymoon, truly stole my heart. We started with a quick trip to Oman, where we hang-glided at Six Senses Zighy Bay. From there, we spent our time exploring South Africa, seeing adorable penguins at Boulder Beach and trekking Table Mountain in Cape Town. We also got to sip on the wines of Franschhoek’s picturesque vineyards. The grand finale of our trip was being on safari, where we were fortunate enough to catch glimpses of the Big Five: lion, leopard, black rhinoceros, elephant, and buffalo. It was a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience and I am forever grateful for the incredible people I met and still stay in contact with to this day, especially as I send clients on their own South African safaris.

Which destinations or hotels do you go back to again and again? Why?

Europe holds a special place in my heart. My husband and daughter are French, so I have thoroughly enjoyed spending time with them in Paris and the South of France. Over in the U.K, we’ve spent a fair bit of time as a family in London and immersing ourselves in the vibrant culture and evolving food scene. Italy also beckons me back time and time again with its timeless charm.
