Barri’s background as a practicing lawyer lends itself to thorough and comprehensive on-the-ground travel research for her clients.

Barri got her first taste of travel through extensive exploration of the United States during her childhood, visiting as many major cities, National Parks, and beach towns as possible with her family. She loved delving into the culture of these destinations, which eventually sparked her interest in international travel. When she had the opportunity to visit Europe for the first time, as a law school graduation gift from her parents, she fell in love with its rich history and lifestyle. Exploring the vibrant cities of Barcelona and Madrid, and walking through the quaint alleyways of Seville, she realized how many incredible places there are in the world to explore. This initial European adventure marked the beginning of her global travels, leading her to explore South America’s vibrant cultures, and the tranquility of Caribbean islands, and continue checking off European countries from her bucket list.

As Barri could only travel when she found a break from practicing law, she meticulously researched her destinations, including where to stay, where to eat, what to do, and more, in order to make the most of her time visiting. She would compile her research into personal travel guides, which she later updated with her own sentiments, anecdotes, and experiences on the ground. When her friends and family discovered her guides, they couldn’t resist seeking her intel for their own trips. Her initial forays into travel planning were driven by her passion for sharing her most beloved places with others.

When planning for her clients, Barri approaches each trip with the same attention to detail she would apply to her own adventures. She only offers tried and true recommendations and tailors every itinerary to the traveler, ensuring that every journey is full of moments that leave a lasting impression.

Which destinations or hotels do you go back to again and again? Why?

I find myself returning to Napa time and time again because every experience has been uniquely different. There are so many areas to explore making every visit feel like a different vacation each time. The same is to be said about the wineries that offer an array of experiences – from one visit to the next, it’s like exploring a whole new world of wines and settings. Additionally, every season changes the way you experience Napa; come December, it’s all lush and green because of its monsoon season versus being there during its harvest. It is also a location where you would think only caters to romantic weekends away or girls’ trips, however, I have found it to be a great location for families. The possible experiences are as varied as the types of grapes the region has to offer.

What has been your most memorable travel experience to date?

My most memorable trip was to Patagonia with three of my closest friends. We all somehow managed to get two weeks off of work at the same time, which is not the easiest task when you’re in the groove of life and careers. We were met with the most incredible journey throughout Chile, including the city of Santiago, the wineries of Casablanca, and the National Park. We had the opportunity to relish in city life on the tail-ends of our trip but also got to bask in the solitude of the wilderness. Patagonia feels remarkably untouched and the beauty is unspoiled; there’s something undeniably special about being in a location that’s both remote and challenging to access. We were surrounded by towering mountains and the landscape was otherworldly, we reveled in every aspect of our journey. We indulged in incredible food and the finest wines, every experience added to the lasting impression this trip has had on me.

Travel Tip

  • Always double-check that you have your passport. Even if you believe it's impossible to forget, it's something that should always be top of mind. Consider getting a passport holder to keep it safe and readily accessible. I speak from experience.
