Julie Kaplan

Houston
3 Years of experience

Born and raised in New York City, from an early age Julie was instilled with an appreciation for fine dining, fabulous museums, world-class performances, and diverse cultures.

Julie’s pathway to becoming a travel advisor was inspired by her parents’ love for travel–they circled the globe numerous times and in turn, shared their passion for the finer things in life. Travel became a gateway to seek out adventure, experience beautiful places, relax and recharge. After meeting her husband and relocating to Houston, Julie’s role as the family’s travel advisor transpired into her making it official and joining SmartFlyer. Her attention to detail, exceptional planning, and organization skills–as well as her love for people–fuel her business. No trip is too big or too small for Julie to collaborate on with clients.

What is your most memorable travel experience?

One of my most memorable trips was to the Amalfi Coast. The drive along the sea was breathtaking with its panoramic views; each town offers its own special beauty and charm. The history and culture–along with the exceptional food–made for the perfect trip.

What’s your strategy to overcome jet lag?

A good strategy for jet lag is to immediately adapt to your new time zone. Get on a schedule as quickly as possible once you have arrived at your location. Avoid napping during the day, instead, venture out! Stay well hydrated and avoid caffeine until your sleep pattern adjusts.

Travel Tip

  • When packing, if you’re not sure if you should bring certain items, don’t bring them. Packing lighter leaves room for shopping while away.
