Lauren Kimball Grubbs

Experience1 Years

A Bay Area native currently residing in Newport Beach, Lauren has been traveling the world for as long as she can remember.

Growing up in a family that prioritized experiences above anything else, Lauren’s eyes were opened to the value of travel at a young age. But it was an exchange program in Rio de Janeiro as a teenager that solidified her desire to always make traveling a priority in her adult life. At UCLA, Lauren studied World Arts & Cultures and spent a semester living abroad in Florence, traveling extensively around Europe during her time with Italy as a home base.

Lauren has always had impeccable taste, strong attention-to-detail and an appreciation for the finer things in life. As a former kindergarten teacher that decided to make her passion for travel a career, she is thrilled to help share the joy that traveling has brought to her life with her clients. When you work with Lauren, you will receive customized vacation planning with special touches from start to finish.

What is your most memorable travel experience?

One of my favorite and most memorable trips was a family trip to East Africa. We did a safari through Kenya and Tanzania during the Great Migration, seeing every animal imaginable. I will never forget landing in the middle of the Masai Mara where giraffes crossed the landing strip and within an hour of landing we had already seen the Big 5! We moved between three different camps, one of which was in the middle of the Serengeti where we would fall asleep to the sound of lions roaring in the distance. We ended the trip with some sun and crystal clear blue water on the island of Zanzibar.

What’s your strategy to overcome jet leg?

I don’t have a magic secret, but I do have some tips! The second you arrive at your destination embrace whatever time it currently is there. Don’t let yourself think about what time it is at home! If it’s daytime, try to stay up for the whole day. If it’s evening, have a nice dinner, a glass of wine, and call it a night. I also always take a sleeping pill my first night or two to ensure I get a full night sleep and don’t wake up at 3am wide awake for the day. With a full night of sleep, I know I will wake up refreshed and ready to enjoy wherever I find myself!

Favorite Travel Tip

I always make sure to continue to take a probiotic when traveling. They replenish the good bacteria in your gut which helps fend off bad bacteria and boosts your immune system. There’s nothing worse than being sick when you’re away from home!
