Liana has been planning itineraries and traveling the world for as long as she can remember.

What started as an unlikely obsession with luxury hotels when she was just a teenager, grew into a true passion for the travel industry that has continued in earnest throughout her entire personal and professional life. Liana completed a masters degree in hospitality management from Cornell University, and has had a 10 year career working in luxury hotels in New York City, most recently with Rosewood Hotel Group and Four Seasons. Liana decided in 2018 to make the leap and begin booking travel full time in order to put her lifelong knowledge and passion for travel to work for her clients.

Liana has traveled most extensively through the Caribbean (favorite island: Virgin Gorda) and Europe (favorite city: Vienna) but has visited over 35 countries and continues to discover new destinations every year. When she is not traveling, researching, or planning itineraries, Liana loves spending time at home in her West Village apartment. She is an avid reader, an animal lover, a perpetual student of art, history and architecture, and an advocate for small, sustainable farming practices, such as those practiced by her family’s farm in the Hudson Valley.

What is your most memorable travel experience?

My most memorable travel experience always comes from the trip from which I most recently returned. It is so difficult to only pick one as I create travel memories constantly and keep them close to my heart and not far from my memory. Most recently, I returned from a whirlwind trip through Europe where I got to experience a snow-capped Neuschwanstein Castle in the heart of southwest Bavaria. I wanted to visit this particular castle for years, ever since reading about its importance in recovering thousands of pieces of art during WW2. I’ll never forget that moment when I first spotted the castle, covered in a perfect layer of snow, shimmering in the distance.

Which destinations/hotels do you go back to again and again? Why?

One place that I can’t stop thinking about and one that I would go back to again and again is Virgin Gorda, and specifically Little Dix Bay in the British Virgin Islands. This property has it all: one of the most picturesque beaches I’ve ever seen in the most perfect private cove, the friendliest people, and none of the structures are higher than the palm trees. It is the quintessential Caribbean resort and still has no TVs which I love! The island also has an incredible rock formation called “The Baths” where visitors can walk through caves, discover rock pools, secret beaches, and climb on giant boulders. Everything about Virgin Gorda makes me swoon.

Favorite Travel Tip

Before any trip, read a great classic book (fiction or non-fiction) that takes place in the country or the destination you are about to visit!
