Lionel grew up in London’s Chelsea neighborhood where he became passionate about the intricacies of hotels, airlines, and all things related to luxury travel from a very young age. As a global nomad with three passports, Lionel has travelled aboard most of the world’s top airlines, transited through more airports than there are days in the year, and stayed at many of the most lavish hotels worldwide.

As a travel advisor, Lionel’s niche caters to high-end leisure and corporate travellers worldwide. Which destinations or hotels do you go back to again and again? Why?

I love Zermatt in Switzerland and have been visiting the region since I was a young child. I never get bored of its natural beauty as the quintessential postcard Swiss alpine town with the majestic Matterhorn as a backdrop. I’m also a fan of its world-class restaurants and legendary Swiss hospitality – to me, these are all the ingredients for a magical destination.

I’m also a regular visitor to Mexico City for its culture, delicious food, and friendly people. It quickly became one of my favourite cities in the world and I find myself returning often to stay up to speed on its forever-changing culinary scene

Which destinations are you looking forward to visiting? Why?

I’m looking forward to returning to Japan. I find it to be such a fascinating and unique destination that offers something for almost everyone from its artfully-prepared food to its famous powder snow for winter sports enthusiasts, plus, its culture, history, and beautiful scenery. It also offers some of the best hotels and restaurants in the world.

  • I always encourage clients to spend a little longer than they think is necessary in each destination to give them the opportunity to enjoy an unhurried trip and have enough time to fully immerse themselves in a destination rather than skimming its surface.
