Which destinations or hotels do you go back to again and again? Why?

I absolutely love the Big Island of Hawaii—there’s no place in the world where I feel more relaxed and at home. In 2021, I worked remotely from the island for over three months, and I keep returning because it feels so special. I adore the Four Seasons Resort Hualalai, Kona Village, A Rosewood Resort, and Mauna Lani, Auberge Resorts Collection. To me, it’s the perfect destination—where else can you watch the sunset from a volcano and then go scuba diving with manta rays at night? It’s simply perfection. Plus, I love how easy it is to island-hop and experience something unique each time. Every trip to Hawaii leaves me feeling completely refreshed and renewed, which is exactly what I look for in a vacation.

What does your perfect vacation day look like?

My perfect vacation day begins with an indulgent breakfast at the hotel, even though I’m not typically a breakfast person—it’s something I always look forward to while on vacation. Then, I like to explore the destination with a long walk or bike ride to take in the sights. Afterward, I enjoy a water activity like stand-up paddleboarding or snorkeling, as the sea is usually calmest in the morning. Once I’m back, it’s time to unwind by the beach or pool with lunch on a lounger and a leisurely afternoon of reading and swimming. Later in the day, I love visiting the spa, taking time to enjoy the facilities before my treatment. I prefer to arrive just before sunset for dinner, then finish the evening with a nightcap—before doing it all over again the next day.

Travel Tip

  • Take a local cooking class while traveling to learn a regional delicacy. It’s a fun, hands-on way to connect with the culture—and later, you can recreate the dish at home to impress dinner guests and savor the memories of your trip.
