With a philosophy that travel offers a space for reflection, connection, and transformation, Marc believes in connecting his clients to opportunities to experience the world in a more meaningful way.
Some of Marc’s earliest memories involve summer trips aboard the overnight ferry from Portland, Maine to Nova Scotia, where the scent of sea air mixed with diesel fuel at the dock sparked a lifelong love of travel. A cultural exchange to Russia at sixteen deepened his sense of connection to the world, showing him that travel could be transformative through real engagement with people, history, and culture.
Marc studied anthropology and literature at Bennington College, shaping a traveler’s perspective rooted in curiosity and respect. His journeys have taken him from extended stays in Rome and Paris to years immersed in the rhythms of Guadeloupe and Les Saintes in the French West Indies. For over a decade, he designed educational experiences that challenged perspectives and fostered discovery—values he now brings to travel design.
At Temenos Travel, Marc crafts meaningful journeys where luxury is defined by presence, connection, and unhurried time. Every itinerary offers immersive cultural moments balanced with the space to retreat and dream—designed to inspire curiosity, reflection, and lasting transformation.
In Rome, I stay on the via delle Croce, where the rhythm of daily life—markets, bakeries, and porchetta paninis—makes you feel like part of the neighborhood. In Paris, it’s always Rue Jacob in Saint-Germain-des-Prés, just steps from the morning market on Rue de Buci. A long lunch at Le Grand Véfour in the Palais Royal—Champagne to truffles—is my Paris ritual.
When I need to truly unwind, I head to one or another of my favorite beach destinations in Mexico—Tulum and Puerto Vallarta—where mornings start with barefoot walks, afternoons mean swimming in hidden coves or cenotes, and evenings end with fresh seafood and a sunset margarita. These places are anchors for renewal and connection.
I wake early, coffee in hand, taking in the crisp morning air. If I’m lucky, I’m aboard the Belmond Royal Scotsman, watching the mist rise over the Scottish Highlands as the train gently sways. Breakfast arrives on a silver tray—fresh scones, thick cream, strong tea—setting the tone for an unhurried day.
By midday, I’m hiking heather-covered hills or stopping into a centuries-old distillery, meeting locals who’ve called this landscape home for generations. Evenings are effortless: a fireside dinner, the soft sound of a fiddle, or a quiet book as the train glides through the dark.
The best travel days feel immersive, unhurried, and perfectly in tune with the place.
Keep up with the places that deserve more than a bookmark, but a check-in.
