Megan Bergin

Chicago
2 Years of experience

With an inquisitive spirit to learn about foreign places and people that was ignited at age ten when Megan was a foreign exchange student in France, she continues to apply that curiosity to her work as a travel advisor

Megan’s career began as a high school world cultures and history teacher before moving to London, and ultimately, New York with her husband. She transitioned to magazine publishing and started managing events for brand partners such as Anheuser Busch and Pernod Ricard, a role that allowed her to travel extensively and gain operational experience in event management. It was through this exposure to the events part of the hospitality industry that Megan ultimately got the bug for travel planning.

With an understanding of cultures honed by her past life as a history teacher combined with the meticulous attention to detail gained during her time in event planning, Megan is well-equipped to craft unforgettable experiences for discerning clients as a travel advisor. She specializes in planning unparalleled journeys for discerning travelers seeking the epitome of indulgence and exclusivity; she’s well-versed in everything from arranging private yacht charters along the Mediterranean to securing reservations at Michelin-starred restaurants in cosmopolitan cities on behalf of her clients. Megan ensures that each clients’ desires are not only met but their expectations are exceeded. Whether it’s a sunrise hike through the Sun Gate at Machu Picchu or a relaxing beach vacation, Megan’s first-hand knowledge of the world’s most desirable destinations and accommodations pairings take all of the planning-related stresses away from her travelers.

What does your perfect vacation day look like?

A perfect vacation day is a mix of relaxation, adventure, and memorable moments. No alarms, lazy mornings, and some exploration. The highlight of my perfect vacation day is discovering a fantastic local restaurant that offers delicious food and an experience that tells the story of the region’s unique culture and traditions. But above all, I cherish quality time spent with family and friends, stepping away from the daily rush to reconnect, share laughter, and celebrate being together.

Which destinations or hotels do you go back to again and again? Why?

Europe! As someone who spent several years teaching European history, I always jump at any chance to visit. Europe is home to some of the oldest civilizations and cultures in the world, offering an unparalleled variety of experiences; bustling cities and charming villages, majestic mountains to sun-kissed beaches, and endless opportunities for exploration. Its efficient transportation network makes it easy to navigate and allows for seamless country-hopping. I love that its iconic cities are rich in history and vibrant hubs of art, fashion, music, nightlife, and gourmet cuisine.
