Naomi Rose is the founder of Wellmade Travel, a modern travel company that provides luxury travel planning services with a wellness twist.
There are some people who manage to find something special everywhere they go — and travel advisor Naomi Rose is definitely one of them. Naomi has always been a travel enthusiast, growing up in sunny Boca Raton, FL where she spent weekends on her family’s sailboat, the Nomad. She spent summers in New York City and Europe throughout her youth, road-tripped across most of the United States and studied in London and Paris. She completed her degree in International Affairs at Florida State University and shortly thereafter moved to Manhattan where she worked for companies like Self Magazine and BBMG, taking a year-long sabbatical in Australia along the way. She met her husband Paul in Amsterdam on a backpacking trip through Europe; they now have a son together and live in the artsy town of Tucson, Arizona.
Wellmade Travel was inspired by a passion for travel, a career of more than 15 years in the luxury hospitality and wellness industries, including ten years in global sales for Canyon Ranch Wellness Resorts, and a belief that every trip should be a luxurious, transformative and life-changing experience like no other. With an eye for exquisite locales and an incredible network of luxury hotels, inspiring wellness properties, and global partners, Naomi finds her clients the most exciting accommodations, hidden gems, and wellness options for their travels, taking care of every detail. As a mom herself, Naomi is also passionate about family travel. Well versed in the delights — and challenges — of traveling with kids, she’s often on the road with her own little guy in tow.
When I was studying in Paris, we took a day trip to the magical island of Le Mont Saint Michel. Set in the mesmerizing bay where Normandy and Brittany meet, we could see the island approaching as we drove near. It looked like a castle out of a storybook surrounded by sparkling sand. This gravity-defying medieval monastery is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It’s truly a remarkable sight to see and definitely one of my most memorable experiences so far. The village dates back to medieval times but is now home to museums, restaurants, hotels and little boutiques for you to discover and enjoy.
Always pack a pair of running shoes. It’s the best way to get your bearings in a new city and to see hidden gems. Alternatively, always pack a little back dress, you never know what you’ll be invited to!
