Regan was bitten by the travel bug a little later in life but has been making up for lost time ever since.
Regan’s family didn’t do much traveling when she was growing up. Other than a couple of all-inclusive vacations as a child, she didn’t leave the country until her early twenties. But her college graduation present — a whirlwind 7-week tour of 13 European countries — changed everything. She loved seeing the sights, hearing the languages, experiencing the cultures and eating all the food. Regan spent the first two weeks after returning from being abroad trying to figure out how she could be a professional traveler, or at least live abroad, but couldn’t find anything that seemed like it would work out (this was before travel blogging had been invented!).
More than ten years later, with an MBA, a successful market research career and a lot of personal travel under her belt, Regan revisited a career in travel and felt that the time was right to make the switch into the industry. Now, in addition to planning and enjoying her own travel, she gets to help others realize their travel dreams as well.
Research, research, research! I never know when I might get back to a particular destination, so I want to understand all the things there are to see and do and plan accordingly.
An African safari has been on my bucket list for a long time. To see such exotic and majestic animals in their natural habitat would be such an amazing experience.
Plan your "must-do" experiences/sites/restaurants in advance, but leave yourself plenty of free time to explore as well.
