Samantha Shelton

With a keen eye for travel and hospitality and an inherent instinct for uncovering the next hot spot, Sam specializes in offering high-touch services to her clients.

Growing up in Dallas, Texas, with a flight attendant mother and a father who traveled frequently for work, Sam was fortunate to explore the world with her family from a young age. These experiences sparked her lifelong passion for adventure. Before becoming a travel advisor, Sam spent over ten years in the fashion industry, living in Paris, New York, and San Francisco, where she frequently traveled for both business and leisure. She understands the transformative power of an unforgettable trip and is dedicated to creating the same magical experiences for her clients.

Sam’s expertise lies in planning vacations to Italy, Mexico, the Bahamas, and across the U.S.—particularly California and the American West. In addition to her extensive travel throughout Europe and North America, she has explored India, Australia, South America, Asia, and Africa. Having visited nearly forty countries, Sam draws on her firsthand knowledge to craft custom itineraries to both iconic destinations and emerging travel hotspots.

Which destinations or hotels do you go back to again and again? Why?

I would happily return to any Il Pellicano property again and again. My absolute favorite is Mezzatorre in Ischia, but I think all of their hotels are superb. With spectacular settings throughout Italy, delicious food and drink, and no detail overlooked, what’s not to love?

What has been your most memorable travel experience to date?

My honeymoon was a bucket-list trip five years in the making, twice rescheduled due to the pandemic and being pregnant, but it ultimately exceeded our expectations. We began at Giraffe Manor in Nairobi, followed by a safari in the Maasai Mara, and then gorilla trekking in Rwanda—a definite highlight. The culmination of our honeymoon was at the Four Seasons Resort Seychelles, which was a spectacular end. It truly was the trip of a lifetime and an experience I’ll never forget.

  • Eat like the locals do. If you're the only English speaker in a restaurant, you know you're in the right spot!
