Sawyer’s career in travel has touched all sides of the industry. After completing her degree in Tourism Development and Management, her first role found her interning at a travel agency in Phoenix, Arizona. During this formidable exposure to the leisure travel space, she gained experience and honed her service-oriented approach. Seeking to broaden her horizons, Sawyer transitioned to work with a renowned hotel brand, and in turn, further deepened her familiarity with luxury hospitality. To further balance her holistic knowledge of what discerning travelers need when abroad, Sawyer furthered her skills by joining a Destination Management Company (DMC) specializing in the U.K. and Ireland. In this role, she delved into the details of destination planning by creating bespoke itineraries and seamless travel experiences in partnership with travel advisors.

Throughout her experiences in hospitality school, as a hotelier, and working at a DMC, Sawyer has been fortunate enough to explore many corners of the globe. From feeling the energy emanating from Egypt’s ancient wonders to getting lost in the picturesque beauty of Ireland’s green countryside, she’s delved headfirst into a world of diverse cultures, mouth-watering food, and jaw-dropping views. In her newest role as a travel advisor, Sawyer aims to continue to scout the spots her clients turn to for vetted recommendations.

As her client’s trusted travel resource for trips of all different levels of complexity, Sawyer leans on her personal knowledge and extensive network of experts. Whether travelers are daydreaming about a relaxed beach retreat, an adrenaline-pumping adventure, or an immersive cultural experience, Sawyer is passionate about going above and beyond expectations to create unforgettable, personalized itineraries.

Which destinations are you looking forward to visiting? Why?

I can’t wait to explore Jordan and Antarctica! Jordan’s mix of ancient history set against stunning landscapes has long had an appeal and remains high on my ever-growing list. From the hand-carved architecture of Petra to the otherworldly desert vibes of Wadi Rum, Jordan takes all who visit it  on a wild journey through time. I want to wander the bustling markets of Amman, snack on some delicious Jordanian fare, and soak up the amazing hospitality of the locals. And no Jordan itinerary would be complete without floating in the Dead Sea and hiking in the rugged Jordanian wilderness.

As for Antarctica, I picture its untouched wilderness, towering icebergs, and the wildlife – not to mention the adorable penguins – in their natural habitat. Visiting the seventh continent would be like like stepping onto another planet. It’s definitely a bucket list trip for me and I am counting down the days until I can make it happen.

Which destinations or hotels do you go back to again and again? Why?

I find myself returning to Europe time and time again, most often, I wind up back in Ireland, or over in Paris. Ireland’s rugged landscapes, Celtic castles, and vibrant pub culture have an undeniable allure. The lush green countryside, dramatic cliffs, and warm hospitality create a magical experience every time I visit.

As far as cities go, it doesn’t get more enchanting than Paris. The romantic aura, iconic landmarks, and culinary delights of The City of Light make it an easy favorite. From leisurely strolls along the Seine to discovering charming neighborhoods and immersing myself in the art and culture, it’s simply irresistible. Both Ireland and Paris hold a special place in my heart, offering endless discovery but also a comforting sense of familiarity that keeps me coming back.
