Property Overview

Aman Summer Palace showcases the design philosophy that Aman has made their own; they have taken a one-of-a-kind location and explored every facet of its history while offering a city escape. Once the domain of Empress Dowager Cixi, the 19th-century Qing dwellings that make up Aman Summer Palace have been carefully transformed into a calming, culturally connected destination. Comfort and a personal touch create a retreat that complements an ideal base from which to explore the Beijing surroundings. Beyond the Summer Palace grounds – accessed by a secret door for Aman guests – Beijing's marvels await.

Agent Tips

  • The Chinese Resturant and afternoon tea in the Reflection Pavilion with a beautiful view.
  • Take a private hike on an empty, unrestored section of the Great Wall, followed by a specially arranged picnic at a villager’s home.

Rooms + Suites

Tranquility reigns.

The 51 guestrooms draw on a Ming Dynasty aesthetic, with polished Jin clay tiles, latticed woodwork and bamboo blinds. There are six various categories of accommodations; including Deluxe Pavilions which are the combination of two Deluxe Suites. We also love the Imperial Suite category which is made up of three separate pavilions: a private pavilion, a living/study pavilion and a formal pavilion for ample space.
Wellness

The wisdom of Chinese healing.

The property has a large swimming pool for guests in addition to a 5,000-square-meter underground facility featuring a spa and fitness center. The wisdom of Chinese healing meets state-of-the-art design in this sleek space, which offers a serene reception, nine self-contained double treatment rooms, a hair studio, and a dedicated pilates and yoga studio. Skylights ensure that the studio is naturally lit for fitness classes.
Restaurant

Flavors from across the globe.

Spread across the grounds of Aman Summer Palace, are three public dining areas and six intimate private dining spaces serving flavors from across the globe. The Chinese Restaurant offers Peking duck and several imperial dishes, along with traditional Cantonese cuisine for lunch and dinner. NAMA, also open for lunch and dinner, features authentic Japanese fare and the season's freshest ingredients. The Grill serves Western cuisine, specializing in a grilled-to-order prime cuts of meat and fresh seafood. With classic Ming Dynasty-inspired furniture, The Grill welcomes guests for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
