Traditional Norwegian cuisine and international classics.

Food is an integral part of the Åmot experience, with meals, snacks, refreshments, alcoholic beverages, and wine pairings with dinner all included. Åmot’s local chef, Thomas, prepares traditional Norwegian dishes alongside international classics using seasonal, locally sourced ingredients. He is most often found by the AGA in The Barn or out foraging for ingredients, and guests are welcome to join him.

A detailed preference sheet is sent before each stay, allowing the team to tailor menus to the group’s tastes and dietary preferences. Meals can be served in the breakfast room, dining room, courtyard, or outdoors during excursions, while twenty-four-hour room service is also available. Guests are also invited to Fjeldfolk’s homestead at Kleiva Farm, where the family can prepare a relaxed, family-style meal or serve fish caught during the day, either indoors or on the terrace.

  • Who's it for?
Åmot is perfectly suited for adventure seekers looking to try something new and experience Norway at its most authentic through excursions into the fjords and surrounding mountains. Multigenerational groups are a fantastic fit, with itineraries tailored to different ages and interests, allowing everyone to choose their own adventures during the day before coming together in the evening. The property is equally suited to families and corporate groups, whether gathering for a birthday or special occasion or simply retreating for a few days away from the rhythms of daily life.
  • Location
Despite its remote setting, Åmot is surprisingly easy to reach, offering access to the less-traveled fjords, mountains, and rivers of the Sunnfjord region, far from Norway’s well-trodden tourist trail.
