Description

Pulling up into the driveway here, guests can expect to be greeted with the utmost Southern hospitality. The lobby is large, bright and airy with a grand staircase that transports you back to another time. While the property boasts an interior of classic elegance, it has still been renovated to feature modern touches and a simple color scheme. You will not get stuffy, Victorian era vibes here!

Vibe

Southern luxury that sets the standard for “Southern Hospitality”, with an especially warm touch for family travel.

Whether you’re a couple traveling for a romantic getaway or a multi-generation family, the Belmond Charleston Place has accommodations that are perfect for every guest. Each room is decorated with hardwood furnishings and light, airy colors to encompass a traditional southern home. The club level rooms on the 7th and 8th floor offer a more exclusive experience at a rather large property. It’s a great spot to mingle with fellow guests before starting your day or grabbing a drink at the fully stocked bar before having a night on the town.

The City View Suites are the newest room category at the property, being created after the hotel’s recent renovation. These corner suites have floor to ceiling windows with views of King Street, Meeting Street, or of the hotel entrance and are perfect for guests who are staying for a long weekend and want to have larger accommodations.

Pool + Gym

There’s a kid-friendly pool and adults-only hot tub, plus a splash pool located on the fourth floor of the hotel. The pool area has large glass doors that open in the summer and leads to an outdoor terrace. The terrace is loaded with lounge chairs, tables, and umbrellas during the summer months and is a great hideaway available for guests to escape the Carolina heat. Adjacent to the pool, you’ll find the Fitness Center equipped with a full range of free weights and the latest cardiovascular machines.

Spa

The Spa at Belmond Charleston Place is the perfect spot to wind down while enjoying your time in the area. It’s designed to be “an oasis of calm” and truly provides the perfect setting to melt into relaxation; here, guests can experience the next generation of beauty with a 100% natural facial or transform your body with a detoxifying massage. Each indulgent treatment works to soothe limbs, boost energy, and dissolve tension. We recommend booking the 80 minute Moroccan Oil treatment.

Restaurants

Charleston Grill is one of the most iconic fine dining restaurants in the entire city. Even the locals are known to indulge in their upscale French and Southern cuisines. Guests are sure to enjoy a delicious meal paired with exquisite wines. If you think that southern food can’t be done elegantly and refined, think again! This place has perfected their southern concept while still artfully catering to more refined palates. The glass-encased Palmetto Cafe is a more casual setting where you can dine al fresco amongst their lush courtyard with skylights and giant glass windows. It’s the perfect place to enjoy a lunch ‘outside’ without enduring the summer heat.

Who's it for?

The hotel is a top choice in Charleston considering its many outlets, central location and adjoining room options. Plus, they gear their service to make sure that both children and the parents are taken care of during their stay.

Location

Located right in the heart of downtown Charleston, this is the perfect home base to explore the Historic District, the shops on King Street, or even the College of Charleston.

Agent's Tips

On the second Sunday of every month the city closes off King Street to vehicles so patrons can walk down the streets freely. The street is filled with locals and tourists shopping and eating their way through King Street. Make sure to have your camera ready, there are adorable puppies dressed up for the occasion!

Must dine at the Charleston Grill for excellent food and live jazz band. Book and club access room for access to extra amenities and refreshments throughout the day.
