Belmond Hotel Cipriani is set amid lush gardens and vineyards on peaceful Giudecca Island, just five minutes from St. Mark’s Square via the courtesy private launch. The sumptuous accommodations capture the essence of Venice with Murano glass, antique mirrors and fabrics by Fortuny and Rubelli. Dine on the wooden terrace of the Cip’s Club Restaurant, facing the Doge’s Palace, or in the stunning Michelin-star Oro Restaurant. Swim in the Olympic-size pool or enjoy a massage in the Wellness Centre; children love the Kids’ Club, with its special activities and a dedicated mini pool.
When arriving here, just a short vaparetto ride from St Mark’s Square and guests are delivered to a completely different world. It is a haven with gardens, peace and quiet and amazing views across the Grand Canal.Jean Pickard
The rooms are lovely with traditional furnishings, very Venetian in feel with rich fabrics but the soft and light color to balance it all out. There are some rooms with lagoon views although most have views of the gardens, so, be sure to consult with your travel advisor if a canal view is a must-have (highly recommended!)Jean Pickard
There is an Olympic size swimming pool, perfect for relaxing after a full day of touring in town. There is pool service with food and, of course, drinks. There is also a tennis court and marina.
The intimate spa is world-renowned for the its location in the same gardens where Casanova once wooed his lovers. Guests will fall under their therapist’s spell as expert massage techniques and signature therapies beautify and balance. Or, reserve the ambient twin room to revive with someone special.
There are two main dining rooms, one of them Oro, with one Michelin star and the restaurant by the pool. But, Cip’s Club is truly iconic. With an outdoor deck and location right on the water looking across the Grand Canal to the Doge’s Palace and Venice, it’s hard to imagine a more romantic setting.
There is the Gabbiano Bar near the pool and they make a mean Bellini!
The hotel has such a romantic feel that you wouldn’t necessarily think of it as family friendly, but, the pool and the extensive grounds make it appealing to families with kids who need to run around. They also have a Kid’s Club.
Beside the Grand Canal in a 16th-century palace, this elegant hotel is a 2-minute walk from both a vaporetto stop and the Piazza San Marco.
