Agent Tips

  • The residences are extremely private, in large part because you dictate your own cocktail hour, massage schedule and mealtimes.
  • If you are not sure about specific wellness program to choose, opt for the "Bespoke." This individualized program will be tailored to your needs after a consultation with the resort wellness specialist.
Villas + Residences

This property is the world’s first full-service residential health retreat and holiday resort in one.

Accommodations at the Estate are among the most spacious of their kind, built into jungle clearings and above the Ayung River. There are nine villas, ranging from one to three bedrooms and five uniquely-themed residences, each with four or five rooms and suites, airy living areas and a large swimming pool designed by Cheong Yew Kuan, an architect with conspicuous respect for the environment and indigenous styles of building. The aesthetic combines Asian and European influences, high-spec fixtures, handmade furniture, Indonesian artifacts and architectural details that exude the spirit of the region. Each residence is uniquely private and no two are alike.
Wellness

An immersive wellness experience.

The property offers twenty swimming pools at including a hydrotherapy pool, vitality pool, and three fresh-water pools. All health facilities draw water from The Source, a mineral-rich spring locally revered for its healing properties.

Beyond the pools, there are few places that offer such an extensive and immersive wellness experience, combining healthy, energy-giving food for every meal with a dynamic itinerary of activities and treatments created according to individual guest needs.

Whether you're looking for a yoga retreat or a total wellness overhaul, COMO Shambhala Estate offers a nurturing environment in which to progress. Every detail is taken care of by a personal assistant, ensuring a completely hassle-free, restorative trip. There are over 30 weekly group activities in addition to individual treatments.
Spa

The lap of luxury.

The Ojas spa is made up of 9 tranquil treatment rooms offering a range of local and international treatments. Attention to detail is superb, right down to the details including the lemon-grass and ginger tea served to guests. The COMO Shambhala Purify facial and the Indonesian couples massage are huge hits. For greater privacy, we recommend requesting one of the private treatment pavilions located towards the spring pools with their own outdoor shower and hot tub; a place where you could spend an entire afternoon pre and post treatment.
Restuarants

Organic, sourced locally, and delivered from field-to-table.

At COMO Shambhala Estate, you can immerse yourself in the flavors of Indonesian cuisine at Kudus House, or enjoy the balance, nutrition and sophisticated tastes of healthy COMO Shambhala Cuisine on all-day menus at glow. This is where their focus on nutrition reveals the power of certain foods to maximize personal performance, increase concentration and energy and calibrate blood-sugar levels.

They also make dining flexible and easy, offering a variety of options to suit different moods and tastes, from a romantic dinner for two on your suite’s terrace to a family meal in a private Residence. To help direct those on specific wellness programs, they have a resident nutritionist, while the on-propertu Ayurvedic doctor also creates special Ayurvedic diets to match individual requirements.

The food is a highlight of the property. For breakfast, consider trying Kudus House, showcasing the diverse influences and flavors of Indonesia’s regions and served in a 150-year old former Javanese residence. For lunch and dinner, Glow is great. Both restaurants feature an array of raw, vegan and gluten-free options. The cuisine is organic, sourced locally, and delivered from field-to-table.
  • Bar
There is a small bar at Glow restaurant and while alcohol is not featured on the menu, it is available upon request. There is a wide range of healthy COMO Shambhala juices to enjoy for those following a strict health regime.
  • Who's it for?
The Estate welcomes families but there are no child-specific activities onsite. Due to the unique design and layout of the Residences, children under the age of 16 are not allowed to stay in an individual room within a residence that is occupied by guests from a different party. COMO Shambhala Estate is perfect for anyone, who looks to make a step to a healthier lifestyle.
  • Location
The Estate is an extraordinary 23-acre (9.3 hectare) location on a jungle-covered riverbank a 20-minute drive from the inland town of Ubud. Ubud, a small but lively town regarded as the island’s cultural hub, derives its name from ‘Ubad,’ meaning medicine in Balinese. This is because of the profusion of unique medicinal plants that grow wild in the dense green forests. In addition, the Estate utilises water from a natural spring locally revered for its healing properties.
