Property Overview

Once the haunt of Jackie Kennedy, Maria Callas, and a roll call of royal families, Domes Miramare has been transformed into a contemporary adults-only resort while holding onto the history that makes it one of Corfu's most storied addresses. Set in a two-century-old olive grove steps from the sea, the waterfront pavilions and villas come with private gardens and direct sea access. Modern Greek cuisine helmed by awarded chefs, a private yacht available for transfers to Corfu's UNESCO-protected Old Town, and a series of tailored experiences round out a property that wears its heritage lightly, all of it with horizon views of the Ionian Sea.

Agent Tips

  • Take some time during your stay to admire the white piano in the lobby, played during Maria Callas' legendary soirées when this was the Onassis family's summer retreat.
  • Set an alarm at least once for the sunrise. A morning coffee on the balcony or a walk on the beach at first light is worth it.
  • Ask about booking the hotel's private yacht Miramareta for a transfer directly from the airport to the resort's pier.
Accommodations

Two wings to choose from.

Domes Miramare's 182 accommodations are spread across two distinct wings. The Sea Front Wing is designed in a cream and beige palette, with natural wood details, hand-picked artwork, and double-layered drapes that draw in the full spectrum of daylight. Balconies and terraces look out over the beachfront or sea, with a five-century-old olive garden and open lawn connecting the wing to the private beach, main pool, restaurants, and bars. The Panoramic Wing sits higher up the hill, its suites built for eye-level Ionian sunsets and horizon views that stretch as far as the sea allows.
Pool + Gym

Four pools and the Ionian Sea as a backdrop.

The Seafront Wing has its own main pool, while the Panoramic Wing offers two further outdoor pools with Ionian Sea views. A smaller heated indoor pool sits within the Soma Spa area for a more private swim. When you're done with swimming, there's an indoor gym in the Panoramic Wing, and an outdoor gym for the Seafront Wing, both ensuring you can maintain your fitness routine while in Corfu.
Spa

Ancient Greek healing traditions and contemporary techniques.

Soma Spa "The Finest" draws on the aesthetics of ancient Greek bathhouses, with marble interiors, arches, and cool shadows framing a large indoor pool and four treatment rooms. The treatment menu combines Ancient Greek healing traditions with contemporary techniques and products from ELEMIS and Codage Paris, with each session tailored to the individual.
Restaurant + Bar

Beachfront, hilltop, and wildly good.

1962 By the Sea anchors the dining offering on the beachfront, opening with a rich breakfast buffet before shifting to a seasonally driven Greek-Med menu of fresh seafood and organic vegetable dishes for lunch and dinner. In the Panoramic Wing, Makris Fine Dining serves a multi-course degustation menu helmed by Executive Chef Petros Dimas, whose contemporary Greek cooking has earned consecutive FNL Best Restaurant Awards. Rounding out the trio, Raw at Koryphō takes a MediterAsian approach, with Domes' signature sushi and distinct Asian flavors alongside Mediterranean dishes with subtle Asian touches, rooted in a philosophy that draws on two of the world's great culinary traditions. And for drinks, there are three bars to choose from. The Verde Pool Bar sits between the main pool and the beachfront, serving cocktails alongside a snack menu of sushi rolls, sandwiches, and salads. Up in the Panoramic Wing, the Panorama Pool Bar pours summer cocktails with Ionian Sea views as a backdrop. After dark, the Blu Bar in the Seafront Wing shifts the mood with tailor-made cocktails and live piano in a bohemian setting.
  • Vibe
Old, aristocratic glamour meets exclusivity and beachfront serenity.
  • Who's it for?
We love Domes Miramare for couples and honeymooners drawn to the Onassis-era mystique, food and wine lovers with three serious restaurants on the property, wellness devotees after the Soma Spa, cultural travelers wanting easy access to Corfu's UNESCO old town, and anyone marking a special occasion who wants a setting that genuinely rises to the moment.
  • Location
Domes Miramare sits on Corfu's southeastern coast near the village of Moraitika, less than thirty minutes from Corfu Airport. The setting has barely changed since Gerasimos Patronikolas, the husband of Aristotle Onassis's sister Callirrhoe, first established the resort here in 1960, with unspoiled nature rolling down to one of the island's finest beaches. The surrounding coastline is exceptionally well-stocked: Sidari, the lagoon at Korrision, golden-sanded Issos, Cape Drastis, and Paradise Beach are all within reach. For something more mythological, the Canal d'Amour is a turquoise cove with a naturally occurring tunnel where, legend has it, a swim guarantees you find your person for life.
