Property Overview

Domes Zeen Chania takes its name from the Greek concept of "ef zeen", the art of living well, and the philosophy shapes everything from the architecture to the programming. Public spaces are open and sociable, designed for gathering, while the handcrafted rooms are quiet, earthy, and intimate, giving the property a dual personality that shifts from relaxed daytime retreat to lively social hub after dark. With 105 rooms, suites, and villas spread across a minimalist village-style layout, it's an open-hearted and sleek retreat delivering a soulful, holistic take on a Mediterranean escape. A private pebble beach sits just steps away, and Chania city is about ten minutes by car, and some of Crete's finest beaches like Falassarna, Seitan Limania, and Balos are all within easy reach.

Accommodations

Earthy, intimate, and connected to nature.

The 105 rooms, suites, and villas lean into a bohemian-minimalist aesthetic, with earthy tones, natural materials, and a strong emphasis on indoor-outdoor living. Options range from rooms and suites through to private-pool villas, with the Haute Living Selection covering the villa tier.
Pool + Gym

Refreshing swims under the island sun.

The resort is home to two freshwater pools. There's an expansive main pool for swimming, lounging, and enjoying the warmth of the sun on a lounger, and a smaller children's pool within the kids' club area for younger travelers. An outdoor gym pavilion is available on-site, with yoga classes offered in-house. A full range of activities can be arranged through the concierge at an additional charge, including horse riding, diving, mountain biking, sailing, and a water sports program available about half a mile from the property, with kayaking, water skiing, wakeboarding, and more. If you're craving a hit of tennis, there are courts just over a mile away as well.
Spa

Well-being rooted in Cretan tradition.

Soma Spa at Domes Zeen draws on the well-being traditions that ancient Greece helped establish. Treatments combine traditional methods with updated knowledge and contemporary products from ELEMIS, iS Clinical, and Codage Paris, with options spanning facials, body therapies, massages, stone therapy, and specialist treatments including pregnancy care and hand and foot treatments.
Restaurant + Bar

Creative cuisine and fine dining.

Beach House Restaurant anchors the dining offering, serving a breakfast buffet each morning and Greek creative cuisine with East Mediterranean influences à la carte each evening, using local and organic produce throughout. SGallina Restaurant takes a more refined approach, featuring a menu of Mediterranean comfort food with a fine dining edge, served à la carte for dinner Tuesday through Saturday, with an à la carte breakfast service on the same days. As a natural extension of the Beach House restaurant, the all-day poolside bar serves tailored cocktails from morning through to the evening in a relaxed and sociable atmosphere.
  • Vibe
Earthy, intimate, and modern, devoted to the art of living well.
  • Who's it for?
We love Domes Zeen Chania for multigenerational families who want a property that caters to every age, couples drawn to the minimalist aesthetic and easy access to Chania's culture, and serious food travelers with an eye on Cretan gastronomy.
  • Location
The resort's private pebble beach is right on the doorstep, with Chania city about two miles away, and the Ioannis Daskalogiannis Airport is around half an hour by car. Chania's Old Town, with its Venetian harbor, is the obvious first port of call, but the wider region delivers some of Crete's most celebrated beaches: Falassarna's golden sand, the striking sea inlet of Seitan Limania, and the lagoon at Balos are all within reach. The White Mountains, just inland, offer a completely different side of the island.
