Property Overview

Donna Camilla Savelli is housed inside a seventeenth-century convent designed and built by Francesco Borromini, set in an intimate corner of Rome's lively Trastevere district at the foot of Janiculum Hill. Commissioned in 1642 by Farnese noblewoman Camilla Savelli, the building retains its original Baroque architecture alongside a first-century Roman grotto, the Cloister, and the Refectory, ensuring the memory of past eras remains intact and making it a truly unique property in the city. Yet for all its grandeur, the relaxed charm of Trastevere seeps in at every turn, softening the ancient Baroque atmosphere. Following a meticulous restoration aimed at safeguarding the Baroque architecture, Donna Camilla Savelli reopened in 2008 and continues to offer guests a home surrounded by beauty, art, and the atmosphere of the Eternal City.

The renovated Classic Rooms offer elegant environments with four-poster beds, and the flagship Premier Suite features a rose window overlooking the adjacent church of Santa Maria dei Sette Dolori, with the original essence of the Monastery giving it a historical and tranquil atmosphere.

Contempo Restaurant's Il Ferro e Il Fuoco takes guests on a culinary journey through time, with artfully constructed dishes that revive the aromas, flavors, and colors of historic Italian cuisine. The internal garden houses the Bar Bistrot, a tranquil spot for a true Italian breakfast, light lunch, or delicious sunset aperitif, surrounded by the citrusy scent of fruit trees.
