“Aqui empieza la magia” or “the magic begins here”, says Sergio Bustamante, local artist. Grand Velas Los Cabos is Sophisticated, yet relaxed, with unparalleled amenities and service. The design exudes contemporary high-end materials, everywhere.
All rooms are light and airy with breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean, complimented by modern furnishings. Entry level rooms start at 1,000 sq. ft. The room products vary between Ambassador Suites, Ambassador Plunge Pool Suites, Special Suites, Imperial, Grand Class (adult only), Governors and finally the Royal Family two bedroom. The Presidential and Imperial Suite come with your own personal concierge.
Grand Velas Los Cabos offer three pools, each with their own hot tub. The adult-only pool is located on the lower level, and the pools located on the middle and top level are family-friendly. The top level pool also has a swim up bar.
After a dip in the pool, work up a sweat at Grand Velas ocean facing gym. The clean, modern gym features the most recent equipment with personal trainers to guide you along the way. Venture outside to stretch or enjoy a yoga class, offered throughout the day.
With $10 million dollars invested into the spa alone, I knew I was in for a treat. Upon arrival, I was greeted by the Spa Concierge for check-in. Once checked-in, I was escorted into the women’s dressing area, furnished with lockers, showers and various amenities. After I was snuggled up in my beautiful blue and white robe, I was brought to the thermal pools to begin my hydrotherapy treatment (comes with all massages, facials and body treatments). I was shown all the various water massages and how they work. Then I was escorted into the Sensation Room where I was guided through a sauna, cool room, vapor steam and showers. Relaxed, I rested on a warm bed until my therapist came to get me. I was given a foot bath and massage, then shown to the table for my 50 minute personal massage.
Grand Velas exceeds other all-inclusives with its award-winning culinary experiences. Each restaurant is outfitted with marble, granite, linens, wall coverings, wood, furniture, décor, and of course, artwork (that is all local and for sale). There are seven all-inclusive restaurants. Some highlights include Azul, a buffet open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, Cabrilla serving up seafood and ceviche by the pool, Lucca, boasting the largest wine selection in the region with 2,500 bottles, Frida offering contemporary Mexican in honor of Mexican Painter Frida Kahlo and Cocina De Autor, starring its two Michelin Star head chef.
There are a few bar options including KOI, a stylish lobby bar which includes outdoor space and Miramar Bar, my favorite, perched on the rocks at the edge of the sea. There’s nothing better than relaxing with your feet in the sand and fire pits all around. Sky Sports Bar is a large sports bar offering stunning views of the ocean and a great place to watch the big game.
Grand Velas is a family friendly hotel. The Kids Club is appropriate for ages 4-11 and the Teen Club appropriate for ages 12 and up. The Teen Club is outfitted with ping pong, air hockey, large “just dance” floor, video game terminals and food bar.
Fly into Los Cabos International Airport (SJD). Grand Velas Los Cabos is about a 20 minute drive from the airport.
