Where moose, deer, and elk are most active in the Spring and Fall, this intimate ranch is truly all-inclusive. Couples will enjoy an evening fireplace cocktail in the Granite Lodge Great Room, as well as intimate walks along the scenic hiking trails. Families will fall in love with the non-stop activities, animals and Little Grizzlies Club. For a girlfriend getaway, or guys’ weekend, enjoy nightly entertainment at the Silver Dollar Saloon and Buckle Barn. It’s also perfect for teambuilding, with a ropes course (that I dared to try!) and group activities such as fly fishing.
The cabins are adorned with antiques from all over Montana, illuminating a local feel. Some of the tents, called “canvas cabins” are winterized and available year-round for a true glamping experience. The Granite Lodge felt like home and I enjoyed my room (“Remington”) which had a porch and high ceilings. The Stable would have been my daughters’ favorite with bunk beds, a mud room and area to hang out and watch television. The in-room mini-bars are stocked with complimentary alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages including root beer in an old-fashioned glass bottle. The basket of snacks were refreshed daily, too.
Complimentary group yoga classes are available a few times a week. Ask for a ride up to the “Top of the World” for mountain-top yoga and then walk down for the perfect hike.
The spa treatments are unlike any other. Each is carefully curated around the activities offered at the ranch. There’s even one that is geared around horseback riding. I highly recommend the Japanese practice called “forest-bathing,” a meditative mind and body experience.
With a beekeeper on site, ingredients like honey, are carefully selected from right outside the chef’s door. Enjoy freshly baked cookies daily (chocolate chip were my favorite!) and ranch-inspired meals at every outlet. Indulge in everything from family-style barbeque, smoked meats, to the best macaroni and cheese you’ll ever have! Enjoy a sit down breakfast, or grab a pastry and fruit from the Granite Lodge Great Room. Enjoy crafted cocktails such as my favorite – the strawberry daiquiri made like you’ve never had before. Watch your organic strawberries get blended by hand and then served chilled like a martini. Whiskey tastings are offered at the Buckle Barn next to a fire pit with salted nuts.
Grouped by age, kids 4-12 will experience everything from entomology to animal care. When not outdoors, there is bowling, shuffleboard, board games and a movie theater, complete with a large collection of movies and popcorn! That’s even open for adults. The Ranch at Rock Creek is expanding their “Little Grizzlies Club” in 2018 with even more family-friendly activities.
Guests are met at the airport by an authentic rancher holding a custom sign board, then escorted to a luxury SUV stocked with snacks and cold drinks. This 90 minute drive from Missoula Airport, is a scenic one, where you may even catch a glimpse of a moose or deer amidst the gorgeous grasslands.
90 minutes from Missoula Airport in the Montana mountains. Also accessible via other airports such as Helena and Bozeman.
