Property Overview

When the Soho Grand opened in 1996, it was the first boutique hotel in downtown Manhattan, and it has remained a defining presence in the neighborhood ever since. The building itself is a study in considered design: Helpern Architects gave it a deliberately understated exterior rooted in SoHo's 125-year architectural heritage, while celebrated interior designer Bill Sofield of Studio Sofield has shaped the interiors from the beginning, mirroring the neighborhood's evolving aesthetic. The result is a hotel that continues to elevate and embody the classic SoHo atmosphere – surrounded by the galleries, boutiques, and restaurants that define the area.

Restaurant + Bar

The great American dining staple.

The Soho Diner pays homage to the great American dining staple: a quality meal with friends, open to everyone, without pretense. Come summer, Gilligan's takes over as a tropical beach bar in the middle of SoHo, serving ingredient-driven dishes and seafood sourced from Long Island's best farms and fishermen.

The Soho Grand has two distinct bar personalities. Step through the velvet curtain into the Club Room, a gilded, two-room hideaway lined with Terry O'Neill's oversized portraits, mixing uptown elegance with downtown edge. The crowd comes as much for the caviar service as the after-dinner dancing. The Grand Bar and Lounge is the more classic proposition: fifty rare American whiskeys, carefully crafted cocktails by mixologists Natasha David and Jeremy Oertel, and a stylish downtown crowd packed in nightly.
