The Balmoral is a grand railway hotel located at Edinburgh’s most prestigious address, No 1 Princes Street, where Old Town meets new. The Balmoral offers 187 opulent rooms, 20 of which are suites. Excellent cuisine is guaranteed in the Michelin-starred Number One restaurant. Traditional Afternoon Tea is served in Palm Court and the hotel boasts a collection of over 500 single malt whiskies at SCOTCH.

Pool + Gym

The Balmoral Spa offers guests a 15m indoor swimming pool, perfect for swimming laps and relaxing. For those who want to get in a gym session, the facility is fully-equipped with Technogym cardiovascular equipment. It also has a separate weights room with both free weights and Technogym weight machines. The gym has a dedicated personal trainer who is available for individual sessions and offers clients the build of an effective and bespoke training plan to help reach their personal goals. Plus, there is a weekly schedule of classes for guests and members to enjoy, such as Pilates, yoga and circuits.

The culinary team at The Balmoral recognise the need for choice, the hotel offers a Michelin-star restaurant, brasserie, bar, an afternoon tea lounge and whisky bar. Each with varied food and drink menus lovingly designed for guests to enjoy. Number One is a culinary landmark within Edinburgh and The Balmoral’s Michelin-starred restaurant offering contemporary dining coupled with world class Scottish hospitality. Brasserie Prince marks a unique alliance between the Fortes and Rouxs, two of hospitality’s most famous family dynasties, bringing to life dishes from throughout France using Scottish ingredients to showcase the diversity in cooking and produce from both countries. Finally Palm Court is wet within the heart of the hotel and is the spot where locals have enjoyed the tradition of award-winning afternoon tea since 1902.

Bar

Bar Prince offers beautifully and simply prepared classic cocktails and a menu of French snacks and sharing platters created by the acclaimed Chef Alain Roux. Guests can enjoy a pre-dinner aperitif, sit in the cosy library by the fire for an after dinner drink or sample cocktails at the long, marble bar counter for a fun night out. Meanwhile, Scotch is The Balmoral’s whisky bar, pays homage to Scotland’s national drink. Tucked away from the hotel lobby, Scotch offers the largest collection of single malt Scottish whiskies available to the general public in Edinburgh. The collection boasts over 500 whiskies from Speyside, Islay, Campbeltown, the Highlands and the Lowlands.

The Balmoral is located eight miles from Edinburgh International Airport (a 20-minute taxi ride) and is adjacent to Waverley Rail Station.
