The Mark

New York, New York

"While celebrities departing for The Met Gala may turn all eyes to The Mark each May, this Upper East Side establishment is fashionable all-year round."

City Family Culture

The Mark is housed, as it has always been, in the beautiful, 1927 landmark building at the corner of 77th Street and Madison Avenue. But inside, the hotel has been completely reimagined, and given a new life and identity for the 21st century. The Mark combines old-world comfort, avant-garde design, and an unprecedented level of personal service to create the finest five-star hotel of the 21st-century.

Drawing on the expertise of an extraordinary group of talents — foremost among them the designer Jacques Grange and the hotel General Manager Manuel Martinez — The Mark Hotel is a beacon of high French style and modern American comfort and service. The delights of The Mark are both bold and discreet.

Understated elegance, you never know who you’ll run into in this famous striped lobby just steps from Central Park!

Rooms + Suites

The guest rooms and suites are private havens of quiet, understated luxury, seamlessly incorporating the latest personal technologies into Grange’s sublimely serene décor and furnishings. We love the terrace suites–offered with two, three and five-bedroom configurations–for the ideal mix of indoor and outdoor space within the cozy confines of this legendary Upper East Side paradise.

For accommodations unlike any other, the Mark Hotel’s ravishing grand penthouse is the largest hotel penthouse suite in the country at more than 10,000 square feet including 2,500 square feet of rooftop terrace overlooking Central Park, the Metropolitan Museum of Art and beyond. Designed by legendary French interior designer Jacques Grange, the lavishly-adorned penthouse will be more like a majestic residence representing the pinnacle of modern luxury with exceptional comfort and care in every detail. The unprecedentedly spacious penthouse is set out over the top two floors of The Mark Hotel and includes 5 bedrooms, 4 fireplaces, 6 bathrooms, 2 powder rooms, and 2 wet bars. The Living Room (which can be transformed into a full-sized Grand Ballroom) boasts 26-foot ceilings, a fireplace and an adjacent wet bar.

There is a fitness facility and personal trainer who can be booked based on availability.

Wile The Mark does not have a typical spa, there is a Fekkai salon housed on the second floor of the hotel. The property also offers in-room treatments such as massages, manicures and pedicures.

Jean-Georges Vongerichten brings his unbridled passion for fresh-from-the-market, simple cooking to The Mark Hotel. A world-class menu of subtly innovative European classics as well as Jean-Georges’ signature global seasonings will be sure to satisfy cravings for both simple and eclectic palates alike. Showcased in a copper and glass wine wall in the dining room are a collection of boutique and familiar food-friendly wines from around the world, with a focus on value and diversity.

The comfortable yet elegant dining room promises to be both a neighborhood favorite and a connoisseur’s destination. Patio seating is also offered, weather permitting, and prime for social distancing.

The lively Mark Bar, designed by Jacques Grange with specially made furnishings by Guy de Rougemont and Vladimir Kagan, is the chicest meeting spot on Madison Avenue. Its ideal after work, before dinner, or after theater. This popular New York City venue serves hand crafted classic and signature cocktails.
