Property Overview

The Mercer is a serene, design-forward refuge in the heart of SoHo, set within a landmark Romanesque Revival building at the corner of Mercer and Prince Streets. With just seventy-three rooms across six floors, the hotel has long defined downtown New York hospitality through authentic loft character, instinctive discretion, and highly personalized service. Fully renovated in April 2026, all rooms and suites now feature hardwood floors, high ceilings, warmer color tones, new furnishings and millwork, and refreshed bathrooms with new marble and glass-enclosed showers. Select rooms feature exposed brick and wood-burning fireplaces, while most offer new marble bathrooms with deep soaking tubs, separate glass-enclosed showers or both. Suites may connect to create spacious two- and three-bedroom configurations, ideal for families and guests traveling together, and select rooms can be arranged with twin beds. Real room keys remain a signature Mercer detail, reinforcing the hotel’s understated, residential character.

Sartiano's brings Italian heritage to the ground floor of The Mercer, created by lifestyle architect Scott Sartiano with culinary direction from three-time James Beard Award winner Chef Alfred Portale.

The Carrera Bar is the no-reservation option within Sartiano's, with forty-five seats, the full dining menu, and a solid cocktail list. If you try one thing, make it the Dirty Umami Martini: American Harvest organic vodka, house-made olive umami brine, kalamata olives, and black truffle caviar. It's as good as it sounds.
