Agent Tips

  • If you want the most spectacular arrival, opt for a helicopter transfer from Sicily, sweeping you right over the island's volcano before landing.
  • The two seawater pools on the far side of the property have a beach club feel with lounge chairs, a ladder into the sea, and a bar on hand.
  • Take an evening boat trip to Stromboli to watch the volcano erupt roughly every twelve minutes, best viewed from the water.
Accommodations

Majolica tiles, lava stone, and sea views across the Aeolian Islands.

Therasia's rooms and suites are finished with Mediterranean craft throughout, such as majolica tile, black lava stone, and glazed Sicilian terracotta in the bathrooms. Most rooms feature an expansive terrace looking out over the sea and the surrounding islands.
Pool + Gym

Three relaxing pools to choose from.

Therasia has three pools in total. The main infinity pool comes with sweeping views of the Aeolian Islands and is one of the best spots on the property for sunrise and sunset. On the far side of the resort is where you'll find two smaller seawater pools, with a more casual beach club feel, lounge chairs scattered across the terraces, and direct access to the sea. The fitness room is well-equipped with Technogym machines, and a personal trainer is on hand for yoga, Pilates, and toning classes throughout your stay.
Spa

Volcanic island wellness.

The Vulcano Natural Spa takes its cues from the island's geothermal character, with a hot pool with hydromassage, sauna, Turkish bath, and sensory shower. Treatments are delivered by Diabasi®-certified therapists, a method built across more than forty massage techniques spanning classic, sporting, and holistic disciplines, with an emphasis on tailoring each session to the individual.
Restaurant + Bar

Drinks with views over the archipelago.

Therasia's four dining options cover the full range. Il Cappero is the fine dining flagship – just twelve tables, Michelin-starred, and focused on creative Sicilian cuisine. I Tenerumi is a Michelin-starred vegetarian restaurant with an innovative tasting menu, led by Chef Davide Guidara, who received the Michelin Best Young Chef award in 2023. Archipelago handles breakfast and dinner as the main restaurant, while Grusoni keeps things casual with pizza, pasta, salads, and burgers.

Therasia has two bars, each with its own character. Il Faraglioni is the place to be at dusk, with cocktails served by an inventive bar team, live music, and sunset views that make the most of the resort's position in the Aeolian Islands. I Russuri sits alongside the infinity pool, a more casual spot for a quick drink, a snack, or an aperitif as the sun goes down.
  • Vibe
Volcanic drama meets Sicilian soul and romance.
  • Who's it for?
We love Therasia for couples and honeymooners drawn to somewhere dramatic and remote, while still working well for families and sea lovers. The Michelin-starred dining also makes it a hot spot for foodie travelers.
  • Location
Therasia Resort sits on Vulcano, one of the first islands you reach when entering the Aeolian chain off the coast of Sicily. The archipelago spans seven islands in total, with Lipari, the largest island, just a ten-minute ferry ride from Vulcano's port. The island itself is largely dry and volcanic, with natural mineral and mud baths among its more distinctive draws.
