Property Overview

Vermelho is the debut hospitality project from French designer Christian Louboutin, tucked away in the quiet Alentejo village of Melides, about ninety minutes from Lisbon and ten minutes from the Comporta coast. The thirteen-room retreat reimagines a traditional Portuguese property through Louboutin's distinctive lens, blending hand-painted frescoes, antique furnishings, and works by artisans personally selected by the designer. Individually designed accommodations celebrate Portuguese craftsmanship and local materials, while Xtian restaurant showcases regional cuisine inspired by the flavors of Alentejo. Intimate, art-filled, and deeply connected to its surroundings, Vermelho offers a refreshing alternative to the region's more established beach destinations.

Xtian celebrates the flavors of Portugal through imaginative dishes inspired by local ingredients, regional traditions, and the surrounding Alentejo landscape. Handcrafted tableware from Melides adds another layer of connection to the destination, while the atmosphere shifts throughout the day from a relaxed bistro setting to a candlelit dining experience in the evening.

Vermelho Bar serves as the social heart of the hotel, where guests gather over cocktails, local wines, and light bites throughout the day. Anchored by a handcrafted silver bar created by master artisans from Villarreal, the space feels intimate, colorful, and full of character.
