What does your perfect vacation day look like?

I wake up with the sunrise after a great night’s sleep and text the hotel butler for an almond milk cappuccino with honey, which I take on the overwater bungalow’s balcony. I read some pages of a book, take a dip in the ocean, swim with sea turtles, and fish all around me. And then some dolphins come up to join us for the swim because this is my perfect day! Already having the best morning of my life, I shower, then my husband and kids wake up, and we all head on a big family walk—our daily routine—before breakfast. Breakfast is a sprawling buffet of all my favorites.

We spend the day at the beach and the pool, giggling and making memories together under the sun! Sun-kissed and salty, we take showers and baths after a big, amazing day. We opt for robes and room service instead of our dinner plans. We put the kids to bed, and my husband opens an incredible bottle of wine as we relax under the stars.

Which destinations or hotels do you go back to again and again? Why?

Italy! It’s a place that never loses its magic for me. The La Dolce Vita energy, the food, the views! The way luxury and simplicity coexist so effortlessly.
Maui and the Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea, will always be a home away from home for us. It’s where we were married, so every visit carries that layered nostalgia, but beyond that, it’s one of the most consistently exceptional resorts in the world. The service, the setting, the family-friendliness, the food, the atmosphere, it’s a masterclass in hospitality.

Mexico is a place that has been part of my story since childhood. I’ve gone at least once a year since I was young, and it still feels like home. The warmth of the culture, the coastline, the ease. It’s a place that shaped my love of travel. And Bali will always have a piece of my heart. There is something about Bali that is pure magic! I lived there for three years, and we still return every year as a family.

What has been your most memorable travel experience to date?

Some of my most memorable travel moments come from trips where luxury and a sense of place meet. Highlights include driving Ferraris through the rolling hills of Tuscany, a private multi-course champagne dinner deep in the Veuve Clicquot cellars, and flying over Milford Sound to see New Zealand’s fjords and glacier pools from above. I still get chills remembering a bagpipe band emerging at dusk at Hopetoun House in Scotland, and in Kyoto, Japan, visiting Kinkaku-ji before hours, with the Golden Pavilion glowing in soft morning light and its reflection floating on the water. Experiences like these shape how I plan for clients today, blending iconic highlights with special access and small, beautiful moments that stay with you long after you return home.

Which destinations are you looking forward to visiting? Why?

I’m excited about a few destinations high on my list, each offering a different kind of magic. Iceland tops it for dramatic landscapes, design-forward hotels, and the chance to slow down in nature without giving up comfort. Patagonia is another dream for its wide-open trails and lodges that make adventure feel calm, supported, and luxurious. I’m also eager to visit Namibia, where desert scenery, wildlife, and wonderfully remote camps deliver a quieter, more scenic take on safari. Finally, Bhutan calls to me for its mountain beauty and the way travel there is rooted in culture, tradition, and preservation. What ties these places together is depth and a strong sense of place. I keep a close pulse on new openings and emerging destinations, but I always prioritize experiences that respect local heritage and the natural environment.

Growing up, Lara spent many summers visiting family in Venice and Northern Italy. She studied abroad and continued to travel throughout college before graduating when decided to make the most of her dual citizenship by moving to Florence to pursue her love of all things Italy. During her time living abroad, she attended culinary school, worked for a winery in Chianti Classico, and perfected la dolce vita.

After returning stateside to Charleston, Lara began a very rewarding career in the wine industry which had her traveling extensively to wine regions throughout Europe with a focus on Italy. Eventually, she even became an Italian Wine Ambassador but after a decade in the wine world, Lara set her sights on a path that would combine all of her passions. She dove headfirst into the travel industry in 2020, immersing herself in all she could to launch Unpairalleled Travel as an affiliate of SmartFlyer, ensuring clients would receive both her first-hand recommendations and the rich benefits of a renowned agency.

WHAT IS YOUR MOST MEMORABLE TRAVEL EXPERIENCE?

One of my favorite things to do on any trip is watching the sunset–I plan the entire evening around it! I’ve seen so many magical sunsets all over the world, but experiencing a sunset sail in Santorini tops the list. After swimming all day and enjoying a typical aperitif as we returned to port, I’ll never forget watching the crimson sky turn to dusk from our front row seats onboard.

WHICH DESTINATIONS ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO VISITING AND WHY?

Having spent so much time traveling all over Europe, particularly Italy, I’m ready to expand my horizons to corners of the world less familiar to me. My travels are always inspired by culinary and wine experiences–I can’t wait to eat my way through Thailand and Vietnam, as well as explore wine regions throughout the Southern Hemisphere, like South Africa and New Zealand.

Growing up in Atlanta, GA she was fortunate enough to spend summers fishing at Lake Burton or surfing on Sullivan’s Island.  While attending Clemson University, Ginny studied abroad in Australia and Fiji, which ignited her passion for adventure travel. While she currently works as a travel agent, three years ago you’d find her working as a high-end surf guide in the Maldives and Seychelles, learning first-hand the ins and outs of the adventure travel industry.  From surfing and scuba diving to dining in Dubai, Ginny is able to use her own experiences to plan life- changing and truly unique trips for her clients.
