What does your perfect vacation day look like?

My perfect vacation day starts with a walk, whether it’s on a trail, along the shore, or in town. Breakfast is my favorite meal, so I’d ask the concierge for their top recommendation and ask for a table outside. Ideally, I’d be with some of my girlfriends who also like to be active. The perfect vacation day would be 40-75 degrees, and we’d spend a few hours hiking, biking, or kayaking. The perfect afternoon would involve a hammock and a book, and a food tour or dinner with a view.

Which destinations are you looking forward to visiting? Why?

If I could go anywhere in the world tomorrow, it would be Bali. I was meant to attend a family camp at Bali’s Green School, but like so many plans in 2020, travel was put on pause.

Japan and Singapore sit high on my bucket list, and I’d also love to return to Italy. I’ve visited Florence, Venice, and Rome, but Lake Como and the Amalfi Coast are still calling. I even have relatives living in Ravenna whom I’ve never met. And then there are the Dolomites, a place I’m especially eager to hike, as it’s known to be breathtaking natural beauty and mountain landscapes like these are my absolute favorite.

Meera believes travel is a deeply personal journey—one that deserves to be thoughtfully designed, effortlessly luxurious, and unforgettable.

Before becoming a luxury travel advisor, Meera spent sixteen years as a food journalist, where she immersed herself in the world of restaurants, chefs, and cuisine. Her work helped her uncover the profound truth that food is one of the most intimate ways to understand a place and its culture. That deep curiosity naturally blossomed into a passion for travel—especially when experienced with intention and care. For years, Meera collaborated with a SmartFlyer travel advisor for her own adventures, allowing her to experience firsthand the unparalleled value of expert guidance and thoughtfully curated itineraries.

When it came time to pivot careers, the choice was clear—helping others experience travel at its most seamless and luxurious was the obvious next step. Meera is convinced that a truly memorable trip begins with an exceptional hotel and is elevated by meticulous planning. From securing efficient flight routes to arranging private transfers, unforgettable culinary experiences, and immersive local tours, she ensures every detail is masterfully handled. To her, the essence of her role lies in collaboration and curation—partnering with clients to create the moments they’ve dreamed about while she handles the complexities behind the scenes.

Her travel tastes span indulgent, romantic stays in Paris to vibrant family adventures through South India, all tied together by a deep appreciation for hospitality professionals who consistently go above and beyond. Meera brings that same commitment to her clients, designing journeys that are personal, polished, and truly unforgettable.

What has been your most memorable travel experience to date?

My favorite travel experience was a trip to Paris and Champagne, where I stayed at two incredible hotels: The Ritz Paris and Royal Champagne Hotel & Spa. At the Ritz, my friends and I were treated like the most important guests in the hotel—every detail was anticipated, and the staff made it effortless to relax and enjoy the moment. Even when things went sideways—lost luggage, dinner delays—their team swooped in and handled everything with such grace that we could simply focus on having fun.

In Champagne, the concierge at Royal Champagne executed every request I made with professionalism, warmth, and precision. It was the ultimate example of luxury travel: having expert teams not only follow your lead but elevate your entire experience with seamless, thoughtful service. That trip showed me just how transformative great hospitality can be—and I bring that same standard to every itinerary I design for my clients.

Which destinations or hotels do you go back to again and again? Why?

Two resorts I’d return to again and again are Maroma, A Belmond Hotel in Mexico, and Eden Rock – St Barths. At Maroma, the service is unmatched—with a staff-to-guest room ratio of seven to one, everything feels quietly attentive and deeply personalized. The resort itself is serene, the beach is pristine, and the food is unforgettable—especially the handmade tortillas. It’s a place where time slows down.

Eden Rock, on the other hand, offers a livelier energy with all the refinement of French island hospitality. From Jean-Georges’ cuisine to the beautifully designed rooms and the most comfortable beach beds (reserved just for you), it’s indulgent without effort. It’s also perfectly balanced: calm, quiet mornings can easily turn into vibrant evenings in town. Both places are lessons in effortless luxury, and I’d return to either in a heartbeat.

Anna believes you should soak up each destination to its fullest and once it's over, put yours sights on the next great adventure.

Beginning her travel career as a 21-year-old crew member on an Alaskan-bound cruise ship, Anna had no idea this would eventually take her into a lifelong profession in the travel industry.

After many years working on cruise ships, Anna took to the planning side. She began organizing and escorting luxury group travel which allowed her to continue traveling the world. Now, with the experience and knowledge gained from years of travel, she is able to share her expertise with those who share her adventurous spirit.

What does your perfect vacation day look like?

The unplanned and unpredictable moments often become the most memorable, so I like to keep some time open in the itinerary to just explore. Agree to that spontaneous snorkeling adventure with a local and his boat (keeping it safe, of course!), go to the supermarkets and see how different cultures shop for food (and WHAT they shop for!) or take public transportation and release that bit of fear that you might just get lost. As Helen Keller said, “Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all.”

How do you pack for trips?

Packing Cubes, have you heard of these things? Game changers. They allow you to separate things out, keeping the dirty from the clean or the kid’s clothes from your clothes. Use them however you choose, I promise you won’t be sorry.

As a mom of three, Betsey knows that happy kids means happy parents on any vacation! She specializes in luxury family travel and couples getaways, whether they’re newlyweds or celebrating a significant anniversary, to destinations in the Caribbean, Europe, and domestic US. Her passion for travel has taken her to countless countries and cities. Betsey’s favorite travel experiences include St. Barts, Positano, Prague, Sea Island Georgia, Anguilla and her most recent trip to Utah.

What is your most memorable travel experience?

My most memorable travel experience to date was a ten day trip to Italy with my mom. My mom and I are very close, and both Italian. Our dream was to go to Italy together and explore; we ventured to Rome, Ravello, Capri and Florence. To date, this was one of my very favorite trips and such a special memory for both of us!

What’s your strategy to overcome jet lag

Immediately when I land into a new country, I aim to assimilate to their time. I try to prep myself first for getting as much sleep on the plane as possible (treating yourself to a business class ticket helps make it that much easier!). I tend to skip dinner and go right to bed to guarantee the most sleep. Jump into activities – possibly a visit to the gym – and try to stay up that night as late as possible.

He follows prepping for trials and depositions with planning Costa-Rican honeymoons and trips around the world. Robert has traveled to over 40 destinations and loves turning luxury travel into a family-friendly experience.

Robert is a St. Louis-based professional known for (seemingly magically) balancing his dual careers as an attorney and travel agent in tandem.

An average day for Rob starts with early morning emails tweaking itineraries before prepping for trials and depositions, soon followed by planning anything from a Costa-Rican honeymoon to a multi-generational family trip to St. Barths. A father of two, Robert has traveled to over 60 destinations and loves making luxury trips enjoyable for the entire family. Rob treats his travel clients just as he does his legal ones, with the utmost care and personal attention.

Which destinations do you go back to again and again?

Aside from Disney, which we’ve visited over a dozen times as a family, I love London. We just did a father-son trip with my oldest and it was a blast. Not only does this city offer some of the best hotel products in the world, but you never run out of things to do. My son loves soccer, so we went to an Arsenal football game at Emirates Stadium and he couldn’t get over how cool it was. We also went off the beaten path a bit (the beauty of going somewhere more than once) and did a street art tour as well as saw a show at the theater. For both couples and families, London offers so much history, culture, and art.

What is your most memorable travel experience?

Of all the trips I’ve been on, it’s impossible to pick just one as my most memorable travel experience. So, I’d say it’s a tie between my honeymoon and an epic trip I took with my wife a few years later. When planning our 3-week honeymoon, I used a travel agent for the first time in my life. At that point, I’d been a practicing lawyer for a few years and the last thing I could imagine was piecing together a safari itinerary. We ended up visiting Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and South Africa. The experience of working with an agent sparked something I circled back to when deciding to start booking travel on behalf of my own clients.

The other travel experience that really sticks out was a trip to Morocco. My wife had just found out she was pregnant in the middle of the trip, so it was already super memorable. But on top of that, we happened to be there during the worst flooding the Sahara had seen in 40-years; as we were in the middle of the African desert in this crazy inclement weather, we ended up meeting people from our hometown of St. Louis! Fast forward and we’re now best friends with them. Our kids are inseparable. The whole thing is truly a testament to how travel connects people.
