It’s hard to choose just one memorable travel experience, but watching the sunrise above the clouds at Haleakalā in Maui while seeing my children in complete awe is a moment I will never forget. Italy is another destination that continues to inspire me—I love the culture, the incredible food, and the way everyday life slows down and centers around connection. It’s one of the few places I will return to again and again.

What has been your most memorable travel experience to date?

My most memorable travel experience was an extraordinary journey through Africa, where adventure, wildlife, and human connection came together in unforgettable ways. I had the chance to see the Big Five, watch lion cubs at play, and even visit a lion rehabilitation centre—an experience that touched me deeply, given my lifelong passion for animals. Equally impactful were the personal connections I made along the way: playing soccer with local children and meeting some of the warmest, kindest communities I’ve ever encountered. At night, the Okavango Delta unveiled skies so breathtaking that they remain etched in my memory to this day.

This journey felt like it was more than just a holiday; it was life-changing. I returned feeling profoundly grateful, forever inspired, and reminded of the true magic of travel—its power to connect people, places, and moments that stay with you forever.

Which destinations are you looking forward to visiting? Why?

I’m looking forward to exploring the polar regions—both the Arctic and Antarctica—destinations that feel like the final frontiers of adventure and discovery. Drawn by my love of wildlife, I dream of encountering polar bears, penguins, and seals in their natural habitats, where the raw beauty of nature remains untouched and awe-inspiring.

For me, Antarctica is one of the most unique and extraordinary landscapes in the world, a place of pure serenity where towering icebergs and endless horizons create a peace unlike anywhere else on earth. The Arctic, with its majestic wildlife and remote wilderness, promises the same spirit of wonder and connection. To me, these journeys are not only epic adventures but also privileges—rare opportunities to witness the planet at its most pristine and powerful, and to be reminded of how small yet deeply connected we are within the natural world.

Prior to making the leap to become a travel advisor, Joanna spent fourteen years as a high school Environmental Science teacher while planning travel for her family and friends. From her semester in Costa Rica during college to exploring the world with her family and planning trips for others, she has gained a deep understanding of what makes a journey truly unforgettable. Joanna’s fascination with exploring diverse cultures, landscapes, and experiences inspired her career transition and she’s never looked back! Which destinations are you looking forward to visiting? Why?

As someone who used to teach environmental science, I have a deep-rooted fascination with Earth’s atmospheric phenomena. I really want to visit Norway to see the Northern Lights, as witnessing the auroras would not only be a breathtaking experience but would also be an opportunity to deepen my understanding of our planet’s natural wonders. As a bonus, the country is renowned for its environmental sustainability!

In addition to Norway, I have always wanted to go on an Antarctic cruise. This expedition would allow me to see iconic wildlife such as penguins, seals, and whales – a unique experience to observe and study these species in their natural habitat. Since I’m passionate about conservation and education, this trip is at the top of my bucket list. It would give me a once-in-a-lifetime chance to witness firsthand the pristine landscape of Earth’s last frontier.

What has been your most memorable travel experience to date?

One of the most magical experiences I had during my college years as an environmental science major was witnessing a turtle nesting event on the beaches of Tortuguero National Park in Costa Rica. As I stood on the sandy shores under the starry night sky, I felt a sense of awe and reverence for nature, unlike anything I had ever experienced before. The sight of a giant green sea turtle emerging from the ocean to lay her eggs in the soft sand left me spellbound as if I were witnessing a sacred ritual of life itself.

Belinda’s love for experiencing different cultures was cemented in her during childhood through family trips abroad. An early memory she still holds dear involved dining in the home of a local Filipino family when her host let out an almighty burp, which she later learned is a sign of appreciation. Much to her parents’ embarrassment, fits of suppressed giggles ensued between Belinda and her siblings; their host, on the other hand, saw the opportunity to entertain the family and kept those burps coming!

After earning a Bachelor of Arts degree from The University of Sydney, Belinda backpacked around the U.K. and Europe, ending up in Italy where she spent six months immersing herself in the language and culture. Upon returning home to Australia, the natural progression of her career led her to plan travel for others. Beginning her travel career at Flight Centre and moving to Travel Associates shortly after, Belinda has managed three successful businesses, organized conference groups at the Bellagio Las Vegas and Shangri-La Shanghai, and planned dream holidays for many clients.

In 2009, whilst living in country Victoria, Belinda and her husband, Jonathan, started Hentyfarm Wines. Crafting wines made with a European sensibility is rooted in Belinda’s love of both wine and travel, which inspires each itinerary she plans. Today, Belinda and her husband live just north of Sydney on the idyllic Central Coast of Australia where they are happily raising three boys along with dogs, rabbits, ducks, and chickens.

What inspired you to become a travel designer?

Like many people, I wanted a career that could take me around the world. Coming from a corporate background that allowed me to travel, I realized I didn’t want to just travel for business; I wanted travel to be my business. I also believe that you need to live the experiences before you can recommend them, and there is nothing more personally rewarding than knowing you helped contribute to a client’s travel experience that will be a memory for a lifetime.

As a young adventurer, Vicky took a one-way flight from Sydney to Los Angeles to Vancouver to London. During that four-year journey, the world opened her eyes and ears, and cultivated a deep sense of wanderlust. What is your most memorable travel experience?

Africa is absolutely one of my happiest and engaging travel experiences.  I’ve been fortunate to visit the continent four times and and I am itching to go back. There is something truly magical about Africa that is soul-shaking.  From East to South, the people are incredible and the scenery is vast, dramatic, beautiful, and ever-changing. The wildlife alone leaves you breathless.  I will never forget the tower of giraffes galloping gracefully right alongside our vehicle on my very first game drive. I had to pinch myself!

As a child embarking on adventures with her family–exploring new and foreign cities like Sydney, London, Florence, and San Francisco–Carolyne was enraptured by travelling and everything it embodied. What inspired you to become a travel advisor?

I backpacked around Europe for two years in my early twenties and loved the nomadic lifestyle. Once I returned home, I constantly had itchy feet and thought about what would satisfy my needs and passions. From there, my dream job of becoming a travel agent fell into place.

Which destinations do you go back to again and again?

The smells, warm hospitality and diverse cultures of Southeast Asia have me coming back time and time again. It is also not too far from Australia and there are some amazing properties such as COMO Shambhala Estate, Six Senses Yao Noi, and more.

Why do your clients book their air travel through you rather than online?

It comes down to having an intricate knowledge of planes; their unique seating configurations to take advantage of, plus all those nuanced airline rules with differing baggage allowances and check-in processes. Especially on multi-route trips with various airlines, my clients really appreciate being guided to the best possible option for them. Having flown extensively for several decades, I’ve come to learn the ins and outs of securing the premium seats many don’t know about, plus how to get special perks.

What’s the most consistent feedback your clients come home with after a trip?

Larry has been passionate about travel from the time he first boarded a plane bound for Miami, at the tender age of one. As a child growing up in New York, he continually requested that his parents drive down the old and elevated West Side Highway in Manhattan, just so he could marvel at the classic, iconic Ocean Liners such as the original RMS Queen Elizabeth, RMS Queen Mary, SS France, SS Rotterdam, and SS United States. Those drives past the piers of Manhattan were the beginnings of his love and encyclopedic knowledge of ships and every detail related to cruising.

What inspired you to become a travel agent?

Travel has always been my passion! I’ve traveled extensively, both domestically and internationally since I was a teenager. Having been to 45 states, 71 countries and counting, I love sharing my knowledge of the world with my clients.

While I meticulously plan air and land based travel, I’ve found that luxury cruises can be a wonderful way to travel.
