How do you prepare for your trips?

My pre-trip ritual includes a lot of hydration and snack preparing. I like to spend an hour or so devoted to pulling clothes and prepping my bag without any other distractions. When I take intentional time around preparing, I feel more settled.

Which destinations or hotels do you go back to again and again? Why?

I will never stop loving Mexico. The landscapes are varied and stunning, the culture is rich, I love the food, and the people are completely undefeated in their overall warmth. Growing up with a family home in Todos Santos, Mexico continues to shape who I am and I never grow tired of spending time there.

We are repeat offenders when it comes to France and Italy. The beauty, for me, is just endless, and going back over and over again means I don’t have to rush to the highlights. I get to pretend like I live there and find the spots that aren’t just taking over the top spots on social media.

Which destinations are you looking forward to visiting? Why?

Japan has always been at the top of my travel list, and I’m beyond excited to finally experience it in November 2025! From the electric energy of Tokyo to the serene beauty of Kyoto, every part of the country offers something uniquely captivating. I can’t wait to immerse myself in the culture, exploring ancient temples, witnessing breathtaking foliage, and indulging in world-class sushi and ramen. The blend of tradition and innovation fascinates me, whether it’s in high-tech cities or centuries-old shrines.

I’m especially looking forward to experiencing Japanese hospitality, from staying in a ryokan to relaxing in an onsen. The vibrant streets of Shibuya, the historic charm of Nara, and the snow-covered landscapes of Hokkaido all call to me. And of course, I can’t wait to shop, wander through hidden alleyways, and soak in the incredible atmosphere. Japan is a dream destination, and I know this trip will be an unforgettable adventure!

What has been your most memorable travel experience to date?

My day in Gili Trawangan on a private snorkeling tour was nothing short of magical. Surrounded by crystal-clear turquoise waters and vibrant marine life, I set off on a boat, eager to explore the island’s underwater beauty. The tranquility of having a private experience made it even more special—just me, the ocean, and endless discoveries beneath the surface.

Our first stop was Turtle Point, where I swam alongside graceful sea turtles gliding effortlessly through the water. It was surreal to be so close to these gentle creatures, watching them move with such ease in their natural habitat. Next, we explored coral gardens teeming with tropical fish in every color imaginable—clownfish, parrotfish, and even shimmering schools of neon tetras. The water was so clear I could see every detail of the vibrant coral formations.

Between snorkeling spots, I lounged on the boat, enjoying fresh tropical fruit and the breathtaking views of Gili’s pristine coastline.

Sherri’s thirst for adventure and appreciation for the finer things in life started early. Born amidst the breathtaking landscapes of Hawaii and raised in the laid-back culture of California, her love for travel was initially shaped by crisscrossing the United States during her formative years. Before leaving for a trip, I spend time researching my destination, including learning about the local culture, customs, attractions, and sourcing vetted dining recommendations. While I enjoy spontaneity during my travels, I also understand the importance of making certain bookings in advance. My biggest fear while on the road is realizing too late that I need an advance reservation for any must-do activity or popular attraction that has limited availability. To strike a balance between pre-planning and flexibility, I err toward overscheduling to avoid the disappointment of a missed opportunity but leave room to go with the flow and discover hidden gems along the way.

What does your perfect vacation day look like?

My perfect vacation combines the excitement of exploring my destination with moments of relaxation and indulgence. Starting my day bright and early, I love immersing myself in the local culture, whether through a guided tour or wandering the streets on my own so I can soak in the sights and sounds of my surroundings. As the day continues, I prefer a leisurely meal of local cuisine paired with a fine glass of wine, savoring each bite and sip as I reflect on the day’s adventures.

In the afternoon, nothing is better than a refreshing dip in the ocean, a rejuvenating massage, or a blissful nap to recharge for the evening ahead. When night falls, I am ready to dive into the area’s nightlife, whether it’s exploring bustling city streets, discovering hidden gems, or dancing the night away to live music.

What began as a love for crafting meaningful itineraries for herself and her family turned into a full-fledged career. What is your most memorable travel experience?

I had the opportunity to visit Greece to check out the top hotels and local experiences for my clients. We visited Athens, Mykonos, and Santorini and every destination offered something incredibly different. This itinerary gives the best of everything from Ancient Greek history, amazing food, romance, beautiful sunsets and scenery, shopping, being near the water, culture, boating, and nightlife. “Chasing Summer in October” through Greece was truly was one of my most memorable trips ever.

What does your perfect vacation day look like?

Having a great breakfast, exploring the local area, coming back to the hotel in the afternoon, relaxing by the water, and then heading to a late dinner.

During her 16-year career at one of the world’s largest hotel companies, Monica discovered luxury travel bliss while exploring a breadth of destinations. Some of her favorites? An adventurous sand dune ride across the Dubai desert, meandering through London to find the best spot for afternoon tea, taking the first sip of vin chaud at a quiet French café in Paris, cruising along the Adriatic Sea admiring the beauty of the Greek Isles, just to name a few in a long history of luxury travel.

What is your most memorable travel experience?

My most memorable travel experiences are when I see destinations through my daughters’ eyes. Looking at their expressions the first time they ever set eyes on the vast ocean aboard a mega cruise ship, gazing at Cinderella’s castle at the Magic Kingdom, looking up at huge skyscrapers in New York City…the list goes on and on and will continue to go on.

What inspired you to become a travel agent?

Working for one of the world’s largest hotel companies for many years, gave me so much insight into the travel industry, in addition to the destinations that I traveled to near and far. Being ultra organized and having a passion for planning put the cherry on top! Put all of it together with knowing how to cultivate relationships from working with the hospitality and travel media was the perfect formula for me to become a travel advisor. And, I’m loving it!

In her previous life, travel for business afforded Maureen the opportunity to see places that opened her eyes to endless possibilities. Soon enough, she was completely bitten by the travel bug, taking her family on vacations inspired by her work. As she continued planning her own extensive itineraries, friends caught on and began seeking her expert guidance. It was then that Maureen decided to take a chance and pivot from her business in the catering world to take on another part of the hospitality space as a travel advisor.

What destination keeps you coming back?

Although I prefer to visit new places, Italy has drawn me back in on numerous occasions. There is so much life and character there, each city so different but so spectacular. The culture and history throughout the country is extremely diverse, really allowing visitors not only to experience the landmarks but the hidden gems as well. Everything about Italy is so warm and welcoming, as if the people themselves are not strangers, but an extended family! And it goes without saying that the food is incredible, including the access to local markets with farm fresh ingredients. And don’t even get me started on the gelato!

Where are you looking forward to visiting and why?

I love adventurous destinations that are rich in culture, so I feel drawn to Morocco. Plus, the history there is so vast, it makes me feel as if visiting would be like traveling through a history book. But whether it’s Marrakech or another spot on my bucket-list, I love the idea of being transported to a place that is so different than Brooklyn where I was born, raised, and currently live.
