Unlocking New York City’s Billionaires’ Row with Park Hyatt

new york skyline billionaires row

In Manhattan, each block seemingly contains its own world.

West 57th Street is one such world unto itself thanks to century-old cultural institutions, destination restaurants, fashion houses, and some of the world’s tallest residential buildings. Known as Billionaires’ Row, the corridor occupying a compact stretch between Park Avenue and Columbus Circle is defined by its “supertall towers” (an official designation, we promise!) with views overlooking Central Park, ensuring that residential real estate can price into nine figures.

Park Hyatt New York sits directly inside this story of real estate gold. Located at 153 West 57th Street between Avenue of the Americas and Seventh Avenue, the hotel occupies the first twenty-five floors of One57, the ninety-story glass tower shared with private residences. And when it comes to the old adage of “location, location, location,” Carnegie Hall is directly across the street, Central Park begins two blocks north, while the Museum of Modern Art, Fifth Avenue, Columbus Circle, and Lincoln Center can all be reached in a short walk.

This concentration of noteworthy architecture and compelling cultural landmarks provides guests a specific viewpoint into Midtown. When staying here, you can begin the morning with a private Central Park Conservancy guide, schedule a focused visit to MoMA, meet a personal shopper at Bergdorf Goodman, and cross West 57th Street for an evening performance at Carnegie Hall. Between outings, Park Hyatt New York provides you with a residential base adorned with approximately 350 commissioned artworks, a twenty-fifth-floor lap pool, and one of Rossano Ferretti’s namesake salons.

Inside One57, the New York City Skyline’s Change Maker

When Park Hyatt New York opened in 2014, it marked an important New York arrival for the Park Hyatt brand. By acquiring the 210-room hotel, Hyatt quickly established the property as a global flagship in one of the city’s highest-barrier real estate markets. One57 was designed by Pritzker Prize–winning French architect Christian de Portzamparc, and its completion was the official start of Billionaire’s Row. Its rippling glass exterior rises above West 57th Street, a structure marking a major shift in the iconic New York City skyline.

Generous floor plans, custom furnishings, and carefully selected finishes…essentially your own Midtown apartment.

Yabu Pushelberg designed the hotel’s interiors around the proportions and comfort of a private Manhattan residence—perhaps one you’d find just down the street in a neighborhood’s multi-million-dollar residences. Architectural screens divide spaces throughout the hotel without closing them off, while hand-woven custom carpeting, rich materials, layered textures, terraces, and architectural light wells bring warmth and natural light into the building. Communal spaces across Park Hyatt New York unfold as a series of connected rooms: The Study offers a quiet place to read or have a private conversation, while The Living Room is arranged with plush seating, fresh flowers, and views of the surrounding city.

That residential approach continues across the accommodations, including ninety-three suites. Generous floor plans, custom furnishings, and carefully selected finishes allow them to function as essentially your own Midtown apartment, with many looking toward Central Park or across the Manhattan skyline. The most complete expression of residential living is the Manhattan Suite. Created by New York–based design studio Sawyer & Company, the 3,500-square-foot suite occupies a private wing on the twenty-fifth floor and includes two balconies, sweeping city views, and a blush-hued living room that softens the glass-and-steel outside.

Wellness That Lives Up to the Neighborhood’s Name

On Billionaires’ Row, wellness is expected to feel private, highly personalized, and seamlessly integrated into the day. Park Hyatt New York doesn’t just meet but exceeds that standard by dedicating its entire twenty-fifth floor to Spa Nalai, a retreat that became New York City’s first exclusive KOS Paris spa. Two treatment suites overlook Central Park, while a relaxation lounge, hydrotherapy facilities, a hammam, locker rooms, and a fitness center with private coaching provide everything needed for a restorative morning inside One57.

A partnership with French skincare house KOS Paris introduces made-to-measure treatments and botanical formulas selected around your skin and wellness goals. You can customize facials and massages with hot stones, LED light therapy, targeted eye care, or a scalp ritual. We love the KOS Immersion Treatment, which pairs an argan-oil massage scented with floral or herbal notes with a revitalizing facial for a complete head-to-toe reset in a single appointment.

Together, the spa, saltwater pool, hammam, fitness center, and private hair salon deliver the discretion and personalization expected of an address inside One57.

The same floor houses the hotel’s indoor saltwater lap pool, surrounded by floor-to-ceiling windows that place Midtown’s towers directly within view. The skyline remains present when you take an early swim, while eucalyptus elements, the adjoining hammam, and dedicated relaxation areas establish a sense of separation from West 57th Street below. A state-of-the-art fitness center and private training allow you to maintain your routine before breakfast or recover after a full day moving through Manhattan.

That level of ease extends to the eighth-floor Rossano Ferretti HairSpa, a full-service salon outfitted with modern Italian furnishings, specialized equipment, skyline views, and a private terrace overlooking Central Park. Its signature service is the Ferretti Metodo Cut, known as the “Invisible Haircut,” which is shaped around the hair’s texture, density, natural fall, and movement. The proprietary technique is performed exclusively by hair artists personally trained by Rossano Ferretti or artistic director Lorenza Ferretti, maintaining the precision and consistency associated with the salon’s international locations.

Together, the spa, saltwater pool, hammam, fitness center, and private hair salon deliver the discretion and personalization expected of an address inside One57. You can begin with a swim above the skyline, schedule a KOS Paris facial after Central Park, and arrange a cut or styling appointment before Carnegie Hall without leaving the building or surrendering precious time traipsing across the city.

An Art Collection Rooted in New York

Park Hyatt New York’s connection to Manhattan extends through its art collection of approximately 350 commissioned works displayed throughout its accommodations and shared spaces. Curated by Erica Samuels of Samuels Creative in collaboration with the Museum of Modern Art, the collection includes work by Marc Swanson, Sigmar Polke, and other New York and American artists.

…approximately 350 commissioned works displayed throughout its accommodations and shared spaces.

Art also appears in less expected forms. Individual pieces are reproduced on room key cards, turning a functional object into part of the collection. Above the bar, Japanese artist Tetsuro Sawada’s plexiglass installation is composed of nearly 1,000 individual pieces, creating a large-scale focal point that changes with the surrounding light.

The collection establishes a natural connection with MoMA, located just a few blocks away. Park Hyatt New York’s Concierge team, working with your SmartFlyer travel advisor, can organize a private or customized museum visit built around a particular artist, movement, or exhibition. From there, continue to The Modern, where Danny Meyer’s legendary approach to hospitality is combined with contemporary American cooking served beside the Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Sculpture Garden. The two Michelin-starred restaurant offers three distinct formats: the main dining room, The Bar Room, and the intimate Kitchen Table.

An Address at the Center of Cultural Icons

Carnegie Hall has stood on West 57th Street since 1891, long before the residential towers that earned that “Billionaire’s Row” name arrived around it.

The Park Hyatt New York’s appeal isn’t just the surrounding supertalls—in fact, part of the original appeal of developing these buildings on West 57th is how close the Manhattan address is to some of the world’s most enduring and influential cultural institutions. Carnegie Hall has stood on West 57th Street since 1891, long before the residential towers that earned that “Billionaire’s Row” name arrived around it. Its Italian Renaissance–inspired façade now faces One57, bringing two radically different periods of Manhattan architecture into direct conversation. Because the hall is directly across from Park Hyatt New York, you can build an evening around a performance that goes deeper than your standard Carnegie evening. Begin with a guided tour exploring the building’s history, architecture, and performance spaces, then return for a concert with first-tier box seats arranged in advance. After the final encore, your home away from home is a mere street crossing away.

Lincoln Center extends this performing-arts route approximately a mile west. (Even in Manhattan traffic, that’s only a ten-minute drive or fifteen-minute walk away.) Here, you can take a seventy-five-minute private tour of David Geffen Hall, the Metropolitan Opera House, David H. Koch Theater, Alice Tully Hall, rehearsal spaces, and backstage corridors. Follow the tour with a performance by the New York City Ballet, the Metropolitan Opera, or another Lincoln Center resident company.

Central Park, Two Blocks North and a Gate to Museum Mile

From Park Hyatt New York, the southern edge of Central Park is less than a five-minute walk away. Start early, before the most-traveled paths begin to fill up, or arrange a private walk led by an official Central Park Conservancy guide to learn how this spectacular feat of an urban park came to be filled with so many natural wonders.

Your Central Park route can be built around the areas you are most interested in exploring. A classic introduction might connect Bethesda Terrace, Bethesda Fountain, and Bow Bridge. For a greater focus on landscape, continue through the woodland paths of the Ramble or enter the Hallett Nature Sanctuary near the park’s southeast corner. A history-centered itinerary can examine Seneca Village, the predominantly African American community that existed on the land before Central Park was constructed.

Beyond greenery, Central Park provides a scenic route to Museum Mile along its eastern border with Fifth Avenue. Walking along this stretch connects you with several collections that warrant their own focused visits—which can happen on the same day as a Central Park tour with the help of a private driver and guide, or spread out over a series of days. The best part? You can select which museums best speak to your interests, and no matter how ambitious your day gets, you won’t ever be too far from Park Hyatt New York as a place to retreat back to.

One of our favorite Upper East Side museums remains The Frick Collection, located inside industrialist Henry Clay Frick’s former Gilded Age residence on East 70th Street. Following a major renovation completed in spring 2025, the museum once again displays works from the Renaissance through the late nineteenth century in its historic rooms, including paintings by Giovanni Bellini, Édouard Manet, and Johannes Vermeer. Because the galleries largely forgo traditional wall text, a private, museum-led tour is especially valuable, connecting individual works with the surrounding furniture, sculpture, ceramics, and architecture.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art New York

For a collection that spans the world, there’s nowhere quite like The Metropolitan Museum of Art, where the scale of the collection makes a tightly edited itinerary essential. Rather than attempting a general highlights tour, the Park Hyatt New York Concierge team will work with your SmartFlyer travel advisor to arrange a privately guided visit around your specific interests. An ancient-art route might lead through the Egyptian galleries to the Temple of Dendur, completed by 10 B.C. and originally built in Nubia under the Roman emperor Augustus. A design-focused visit can move through the museum’s historic interiors, from an ancient Roman bedroom excavated near Pompeii to an eighteenth-century Parisian salon and the Frank Lloyd Wright Room. The American Wing alone contains twenty period rooms tracing approximately three centuries of domestic architecture, including a 1680 room from Ipswich, Massachusetts.

Farther north, Neue Galerie New York occupies a Fifth Avenue mansion at East 86th Street and concentrates exclusively on early twentieth-century Austrian and German art and design. Its intimate scale allows a private or after-hours tour that examines painting, furniture, decorative objects, and graphic design in one visit. Don’t miss a stop at Café Sabarsky on the ground floor for tea and cake to debrief on your findings. The museum is scheduled to reopen on November 12, 2026, with its 25th Anniversary Exhibition.

A few blocks north, Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum offers an experience shaped as much by architecture as by its collection. Inside Frank Lloyd Wright’s spiraling building at Fifth Avenue and East 88th Street, a guided visit can focus on the museum’s architecture, current exhibitions, or the Thannhauser Collection, which includes Impressionist, Post-Impressionist, and modern French works by artists such as Edgar Degas, Édouard Manet, and Vincent van Gogh. Instead of moving through a conventional sequence of rooms, you follow the continuous ramp around the rotunda, seeing the installation and Wright’s building change from each level.
