With a profound passion for meaningful travel and an impeccable eye for detail, Lorenia crafts journeys filled with unforgettable experiences, believing that every itinerary reveals something new within her clients when they’re immersed in the moment.

As a seasoned luxury travel advisor with over a decade of experience, Lorenia goes beyond traditional itineraries, designing trips that center on the kinds of moments that transform perspectives and create lasting impressions. She began her career alongside her husband, Juan Carlos, with a focus on honeymoons—intimate journeys that serve as the first chapter in a couple’s shared story. Over the years, her expertise naturally grew to encompass family adventures and experiences for couples who hold a deep curiosity for the world and a shared desire to connect meaningfully with new places.

Lorenia’s perspective on travel has been profoundly shaped by moments that inspire awe and humility. Whether trekking through Rwanda’s Virunga Mountains to meet a family of gorillas or standing atop a peak in the Dolomites, moments immersed in beauty repeatedly remind her of the transformative power of travel to put life into perspective. Yet, Lorenia’s equally enchanted by the quieter discoveries—such as savoring an exquisite cheese in a tiny artisan shop in Paris, or experiencing the serene ritual of tea in a traditional Hangzhou tea house, where the speed of life seems to slow to a soothing rhythm.

For Lorenia, true luxury takes many forms—whether it’s an extraordinary place to stay, exclusive access to hidden gems, or the intangible gift of time well spent when she’s somewhere where there is thoughtful attention to detail. With a masterful blend of tailor-selected accommodations, rare experiences, and seamless planning, she creates journeys that allow travelers to explore the world with confidence, curiosity, and joy. Above all, Lorenia’s aim is to design trips that leave travelers enriched, with stories and memories that linger long after they return home.

What has been your most memorable travel experience to date?

One of the most unforgettable places I’ve ever been is Mahale Mountains in Tanzania. You fly for about four hours in a small Cessna from the Serengeti and suddenly land on a beach on Lake Tanganyika—the scenery shifts completely. Jungle-covered mountains behind you, an endless lake in front of you, and across the water, the Congo. Everything there revolves around the chimpanzees. The guides live incredibly close to their world and know the M Community almost like a family—they can tell you the full “biography” of each chimp, their personalities, their alliances, their stories. Watching them in the forest while looking out across the lake toward the Congo is one of those travel moments that makes you stop and think: this is why we travel.

Bhutan is at the top of my list. It’s one of the few places in the world that seems to have intentionally chosen a different pace and philosophy of life, and I find that deeply fascinating. What draws me most is the possibility of experiencing a place where nature, spirituality, and daily life feel closely intertwined. I’m also incredibly curious about the setting itself—Bhutan, tucked into the Himalayas, already feels like a “wow” destination before you even arrive. The hotel offering is exquisite, with properties that feel deeply committed to Bhutanese culture and heritage and are thoughtfully designed to reflect the spirit of the place.

For Ana Laura, creating extraordinary journeys means bringing people closer together—an ethos that is the driving force behind her career as a travel advisor.

Ana Laura believes the very best trips aren’t measured by the number of landmarks visited but by the shared moments that linger long after—the laughter of a grandmother at a vineyard dinner in Tuscany, a child’s first gleeful splash in the Greek Isles, or a family basking in the golden glow of an African sunset.

Drawn to travel for its ability to forge deeper connections, Ana Laura redirected her background in business toward designing tailor-made family experiences. Her vision for each trip is shaped by her own travels, where she observed the way time spent together can strengthen bonds, leaving families enriched by memories that withstand time.

Ana Laura approaches every client with warmth, curiosity, and an obsessive attention to detail, ensuring that no moment is overlooked. Whether it’s curating private cultural encounters, arranging multigenerational celebrations in stunning settings, or finding the perfect blend of relaxation and adventure, Ana Laura crafts journeys that embody togetherness in the most meaningful form. For her, travel is about more than places—it’s about sharing life’s most precious gifts and carrying those moments forward, long after the suitcases are unpacked.

Specializing in crafting seamless travel experiences, the itineraries Carlos tailors on behalf of clients span from the timeless elegance of Europe’s storied capitals to the untouched beauty of the world’s most remote and exotic corners. His entry into the world of luxury travel was no accident, but instead, the natural evolution of a career shaped by entrepreneurship and a proud third-generation legacy of excellence in hospitality.

For Carlos, every trip is driven by an unwavering commitment to impeccable standards and his clients’ most valuable currency: time. His entire practice is built on the promise that every detail, no matter how small, will be handled flawlessly. For him, luxury travel is never a one-size-fits-all formula but rather a deeply personal experience unique to each traveler, shaped by their passions, curiosities, and the discoveries they’ve yet to make.

While Europe forms the foundation of much of his work, it is the untamed, extraordinary destinations—luxury tented camps in Botswana, temple-studded journeys through Southeast Asia, or thrilling expeditions in Georgia and Armenia—that truly spark his passion. Whether it’s watching mountain gorillas in Rwanda or designing immersive culinary escapes, Carlos brings unparalleled precision and creativity to every corner of the world. Based in Mexico and connected to an elite global network, Carlos provides his clients access to the kind of exclusive, once-in-a-lifetime experiences most only dream about.

This year, I’m returning to Africa for what will be my tenth journey to the continent, focusing on exploring new lodges and refining my knowledge of properties that offer truly exceptional safari experiences. Africa continues to inspire me because no two safaris are ever the same, and there is always something new to discover.

A luxury travel advisor and entrepreneur whose passion for travel stems from a deep curiosity for the world, Andrea has an innate desire to experience destinations beyond the surface.

As a founding member of ALTE Travel—the established luxury firm now serving as the foundation for SmartFlyer Latin America—Andrea has built her career around designing highly personalized journeys that prioritize meaning, emotion, and connection. Africa holds a special place in her heart, having shaped her perspective on what travel can truly offer: authenticity, perspective, and transformation.

Andrea’s philosophy is simple yet intentional: a memorable trip is not defined by how many places you visit, but by how deeply you experience them. She specializes in experience-led travel, focusing on destinations and itineraries that allow her clients to immerse themselves fully—whether through culture, nature, or exclusive access. Every recommendation reflects her client’s personal story and aspirations.

Now part of SmartFlyer’s global network, Andrea continues to curate refined, immersive journeys while leveraging SmartFlyer’s decades-long relationships and access, elevating the experience for both clients and fellow advisors across the ALTE Travel community.

Africa has been the most memorable travel experience of my life, as it completely transformed how I understand the world and the purpose of travel. Beyond its breathtaking landscapes and extraordinary wildlife, what impacted me most was the depth of connection—both with nature and with people. There is a rawness and authenticity in Africa that cannot be replicated; it strips away distraction and allows for a more present, meaningful way of experiencing a destination. Whether witnessing wildlife in its natural habitat, engaging with local communities, or simply being immersed in vast, untouched landscapes, I felt a sense of perspective and humility that has stayed with me ever since. That emotional depth now defines how I curate travel for my clients, focusing not just on where they go, but on how deeply they experience it.

Which destinations are you looking forward to visiting? Why?

I’m drawn to the Arctic because it represents the ultimate destination of raw and profound stillness. Unlike any other place, it offers a rare sense of isolation that allows me to disconnect from the noise of everyday life and reconnect with a deeper sense of presence. After experiencing the emotional depth of places like Africa, I’m inspired to explore environments that challenge my perspective in different ways. The Arctic is not about abundance, but about purity: endless white landscapes, dramatic light, and the quiet power of nature. I’m especially fascinated by the contrast it offers, from extreme conditions to moments of serenity and reflection. For me, traveling to the Arctic is not just about seeing a place, but about fully absorbing it in its most elemental, unfiltered form—an experience I believe will once again reshape my understanding of the world, much like Africa did.

My perfect vacation day is all about balance. It starts slow, never rushed. I like waking up in a beautiful space with natural light, somewhere that feels thoughtfully designed, whether it’s a beachfront villa or a city hotel with character. From there, I like to explore in a way that feels intentional but not overplanned. It could be a visit to a museum, walking through a neighborhood with a unique identity, or discovering small boutiques and galleries. I prefer fewer, more meaningful experiences.

Lunch is always somewhere with a sense of place, followed by a bit of downtime either by the pool, at a spa, or just taking a moment to reset. In the afternoon, I’ll usually do something cultural or design-focused, and then ease into the evening. Nights are about atmosphere—great lighting, great music, and a restaurant that feels special but not forced. For me, a perfect day isn’t about doing more; it’s about feeling completely in sync with where I am.

How do you prepare for your trips?

I prepare for my trips the same way I design them for my clients—thoughtfully—but without overcomplicating things. A few key reservations secured, the right guides in place if needed, and a strong sense of the destination’s rhythm. That said, I always leave space for spontaneity, because some of the best moments happen when you’re not following a strict plan.

Research is genuinely one of my favorite parts of the process. I spend a lot of time diving into a destination—discovering new places, uncovering hidden gems, and refining what’s actually worth doing. I filter everything through trusted sources, personal recommendations, and my own network—people on the ground who really understand what’s happening in real-time.

I also lay everything out in Google Maps: restaurants, neighborhoods, galleries, and any spot that sparks interest. It gives me a clear visual of the city and allows me to move through it intuitively, without needing to follow
