A life-changing summer spent in Venice, Italy, sparked Libby’s love of travel.

Raised in a small East Texas town, Libby was born with an imagination and ideas as big as her beloved home state. After moving to Houston, which she still calls home, she worked in sales and marketing which led to a career with Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts, where her love of all things event planning, travel, dining and, most importantly, people thrived.

During her time at Four Seasons, Libby traveled to the brand’s properties in Budapest, Prague, Paris, Terre Blanche in Provence, Florence, New York, The Beverly Wilshire, Four Seasons LA, and even living on property in Westlake Village for six months on assignment. Experience in the hospitality industry has taught Libby that personalized service and experiences are paramount. Whether you’re headed out for a few nights on business, planning the trip of a lifetime, looking to revisit a favorite destination or want to discover an unknown jewel, Libby will handle all details to assist in an effortless travel experience.

Which destinations and hotels do you go back to again and again? Why?

It’s hard to go across the pond and not stop in Paris. I haven’t been ALL over the world just yet, but I can’t imagine a more heavenly place than the George V. I spent my 30th birthday week there with the most fabulous friends, and it will forever be one of the most special birthdays ever. I’m hoping to drop enough hints over the next few years to weasel my way back for my 40th. And we fell madly in love with St. Tropez the first time we visited the South of France. We can’t wait to return (in and out of Paris, of course).

Closer to home, we enjoy a quick two-hour flight from Houston to Cancun and the Rivera Maya. We can’t get enough of the Grand Velas Rivera Maya. If you’re at all hesitant about an all-inclusive resort, let this be your first and only. We also love the Ritz-Carlton Cancun with its old-school pink decor and stellar service. When traveling for pleasure we’re most likely headed to a beach, but when we do make city plans we love the EDITION Miami, The Beverly Hills Hotel, and Encore Tower Suites in Las Vegas.

What is your most memorable travel experience?

A birthday celebration for my love Lauren in Venice, Italy, tops the list. Having lived in Venice before, I was prepared for the beauty awaiting us, but seeing it through her eyes was like being there for the first time. We arrived via train from Florence and boarded a private water taxi on the perfect Venetian day. We spent our time strolling the streets, taking in the magnificent sights and sounds of San Marco Square, watching the gondola races from Hotel Danieli, sipping bellinis at Harry’s Bar and devouring pizza and vino on repeat.

Travel Tip

  • EAT! Eat all the things! Immersing yourself in food offerings and dining experiences is one of the best ways to learn about a destination and its culture. Whether it’s long and leisurely or quick and hurried, food and service tell us so much about where we are and how the locals live. Ask for a small-vineyard bottle of wine in Italy, enjoy tapas and cocktails followed by an 11pm dinner in Spain, enjoy a six-hour lunch in Mexico. Besides, calories don’t count on vacation.
