Shelby thrives on connecting her clients with the world by developing tailor-made itineraries for anywhere the world takes them.

While Shelby has called Austin home her entire life, she’s been fortunate to be able to put her passport to good use and travel all over the world. Her first-hand travel experience coupled with her extensive background in providing white-glove customer service allows you to save your most precious asset – time – while curating memories that will last you a lifetime. After spending years in the tech industry, it was after her return from a once-in-a-lifetime trip to South Africa that she knew she wanted to pursue a career in luxury travel planning.

Shelby enjoys all types of travel – from rest and relaxation to adventure – and some of her favorite experiences include scuba diving off the second-biggest great barrier reef in the world in Roatan, Honduras, hiking with elephants in an Elephant Sanctuary in Chiang Mai, Thailand, and going on safari in the Thornybush Game Reserve in South Africa. Travel has long been Shelby’s passion so she is thrilled to be able to bring the gift of amazing new experiences to others and welcomes the opportunity to plan your next trip with you!

What is your most memorable travel experience?

This one is a no-brainer. My most memorable travel experience, by far, was going on my first safari in South Africa. There is something so special about seeing a wild pride of lion and their cubs in their natural habitat. On top of that, the landscape is breathtaking and the knowledge you gain is incredible. It was like being on my own personal episode of National Geographic! South Africa remains one of my favorite destinations in the world. This is a country that has so much to offer for any type of traveler. From the big city and stunning views of Cape Town to the wineries and fine dining of Franschhoek and Stellenbosch to the private wildlife reserves of Sabi Sands or Thornybush – this is a vacation that you will be talking about for years to come. If South Africa isn’t on your shortlist of places to go, be sure to add it!

What inspired you to become a travel agent?

Throughout my life, I’ve always preferred experiences over things. I’ve always made sure to have one big trip planned each year and it was always the thing that kept me motivated on my toughest days. The beauty of travel is that it inspires us to see, do, taste, and try new things. We meet new people, experience different cultures, and can unplug from daily life and truly unwind.

Travel brings me more joy than anything in the world and if I could spend every dollar I earned on travel alone, I would. After talking with friend, it seems that many share the same sentiment, but life would always end up getting in the way of actually taking those trips. Let’s face it, people get busy and travel planning is hard work! And unfortunately, when life gets in the way, travel gets de-prioritized. So, it became my goal to change that. I became a luxury travel planner to take the hassle, stress, and anxiety out of travel planning and allow you to experience new places. To me, this job is so more than just custom itinerary creation to save you time. It is connecting you with the world and creating memories that will last you a lifetime.

Travel Tip

  • When traveling somewhere new, always try to include one activity on your itinerary where you try something unfamiliar or leave with new skills or knowledge about the culture. Every destination in the world has something unique to offer its visitors. You'll discover new ways of doing things and gain awareness of new customs, cultures, people, and places. Best of all, you'll leave with an even deeper appreciation of the destination you've visited.
