What has been your most memorable travel experience to date?

My husband and I love to see the world through activity. After hours of hiking up a trail in Torres del Paine National Park on the Chilean side of Patagonia, our guide laid down a blanket and set out a gourmet lunch spread. While it was summer there, we were surrounded by snow-covered mountains at high altitude. We savored our delicious lunch while soaking in the awe-inspiring scenery around us. Our love for moving in the outdoors, seeing planet Earth’s most beautiful places, and enjoying memorable culinary experiences came together in one magical moment.

Our travel bucket list is long, and there are still so many places we want to see and experience, but there’s something about going back to familiar places that have captured your heart. Whether long weekends hiking and experiencing fall foliage in the Hudson Valley, celebrating anniversaries in Napa Valley, where we got married, or traveling to the cities that host our favorite tennis tournaments, there’s something special about going back to the same destinations and properties we enjoyed the first time around.

It’s impossible to name just one, because each journey has offered something entirely its own. As I tried to think of the trip, a flood of beautiful images and memories came to mind. Of course, that first visit to Irpinia—the one that convinced me to move here and share this magic with others—was transformative. But just as unforgettable are moments like sipping wine with a winemaker in their private cellar in Burgundy, sharing a meal cooked alongside generations of family in Italy, wandering the streets of a new city with my best friends of over thirty years, or gliding along the coast on a private boat. Each experience stopped me in my tracks in its own way. That’s the beauty of travel done with intention: no two journeys are ever truly the same, and the most meaningful moments are often the ones you never planned for.

Southwestern Europe holds a special place in my heart.

Specifically, Croatia and Montenegro have become my favorite countries to visit—and to send clients to. I first visited Croatia in May 2023 and instantly fell in love: with the sparkling Adriatic, the charming stone streets, the incredible wine, and the relaxed coastal vibe. It’s a country that offers so much—island-hopping by boat, beachside bliss, rich history, and a blend of Mediterranean and Italian-inspired cuisine. It’s become especially meaningful to me, as I returned in 2025 to get married on the island of Hvar. My favorite hotel is a tie between Maslina Resort in Hvar and Villa Dubrovnik.

Montenegro is equally special. Not only is it breathtakingly beautiful and diverse in its landscapes, but the locals are also incredibly friendly and welcoming. My favorite resort to recommend to clients is the One&Only in Portonovi. What has been your most memorable travel experience to date?

One of my favorite travel experiences was a trip to Finland with the women in my family — my mother, sister, and aunt. My destination wedding in Barcelona, Spain! It was an absolute dream to have all our loved ones together for a few unforgettable days, experiencing the magic of travel in a place that means so much to us.

Before marriage and kids, I found myself between magazine jobs and decided to pack up my apartment to spend an entire summer traveling. My honeymoon was a bucket-list trip five years in the making, twice rescheduled due to the pandemic and being pregnant, but it ultimately exceeded our expectations. We began at Giraffe Manor in Nairobi, followed by a safari in the Maasai Mara, and then gorilla trekking in Rwanda—a definite highlight. The culmination of our honeymoon was at the Four Seasons Resort Seychelles, which was a spectacular end. It truly was the trip of a lifetime and an experience I’ll never forget.

I’ve always said that if trip preparation were an Olympic sport, I’d be a top competitor. But preparation isn’t just about what you do on a trip; it’s about being ready for every adventure, twist, and turn. From packing lists tailored to planned activities to having foreign currency on hand, I leave nothing to chance. I’ve learned the hard way that even the smallest oversight can impact your experience (like forgetting blister band-aids you desperately need while on a walking tour!). That’s why I’m dedicated to providing comprehensive planning for my clients, so they can focus on the fun and avoid any ‘oh no’ moments. Although, those do sometimes make for funny stories upon return!
